Super hot. Such a better deal than doughnuts or pastries 🔥

Also, I think a lot of stores should jump on this to cut food waste too, especially for fruits and veg.

Hot! Was expecting it to be one apple or summit!

Superb deal. Lidl is showing Tesco how it should be done!

Finally, I was considering mailing/tweeting to complain all their offers are so unhealthy. Buy quite a bit of fruit in there so this will be great.

Mind you, Still have to complain about their bloody prices always being wrong (edited)

Seems my fruit intake is about to go through the roof! Great deal (I'd argue even better than that previous bakery promotion - certainly healthier anyway!)

Edit: I wonder what they mean by the items being allocated based on stock availability at the time? None of the items looks like one they don't always have and I'd be surprised if the database knows anything about available stock other than when they last delivered a stock item to the store or possibly what is out of stock (if the store logs that somewhere during the day?) (edited)

Surely the store logs stock levels as they sell them at the checkout so they have a good idea of levels at any time. If it's anything like the bakery deal, they will at some point run out of items, I usually went later in the day and they always ran out of bakery items, then I went in the morning once and it was stocked full.

I wonder if the free item will count as a purchase like it did for the bakery promo this time last year (but not in the more recent one)?

Very good deal, anyway (other than the fact that Lidl fruit tends to go bad within a day). (edited)

They changed the t&c, that's why the part where it says "buy anything above 1p". The first deal just said make a purchase. Getting it free will make it 0p.

So yeah, you'd have to buy something.

They learned from the very first time they did it, sad for us good for them. (edited)

This fruity gamble might seem like a plum deal, but you need to use your melon. Otherwise once you pop your cherry, you can end up going completely bananas.
    Cheeky_Chap's avatar
You can't really compare though, it's like apples and oranges

If it's anything like the fruit n veg at my local Lidls, all I will be doing is creating a new compost heap!

Great (and heat) but what's with the 'gambling' going on with all this 'spin to win stuff' going on. Fair enough, often it's same result for everyone but just seems (IMO) to be feeding a potentially horrendous addiction : (
    Ferris's avatar
It's not even close to gambling though, as you're not risking anything to win.

Ohh and possibly Scotland as well though I'm unsure if there's any agreement in place for this rare occurrence! (edited)

nice, i do lots of small shops or pop in on way to work so looks like fruit is very much on the menu.

i do most of my shopping at lidl and i do have to second how poor the shelf life is on a lot of their fruit & veg stuff is though compared to tesco
  22. ADDCAD's avatar
Hot Deal, but outside of this I won’t pick up lidl fruit or veg anymore. Quality nearly always poor only lasting a few days before turning.
  23. doggingdeals's avatar
finally all they gave me was donuts before
