HotUKDeals - 100,000 pillaging vikings can't be wrong*
It's a crazy crazy thing but the stars have aligned and the HotUKDeals membership number has just tipped over the magic 100,000 member point! On the plus side this means we're going to party like it's 2004 but it also means you have to read through a nostalgic weepy post :) When HUKD first started it was pretty damn exciting to hit 10 members, the 100 member mark was a stunner and 1000 was already feeling like an immense milestone. Last year the 50,000 mark swooped by and now HUKD is sitting at the big six digits. It's hard to imagine that many HUKD'ers... a bit of back of the envelope math says that saying w000t! to each member would take about 28 hours non-stop...?!
Although HUKD has grown from such a small start into such a big community (actually we'd be at 200,000 if it weren't for Emma banning every second member) HUKD is still a massive amount of fun and, even better, has turned into a deadly weapon for all of us consumers. Every member who joins adds another set of eyeballs to spot the best deals, tips, misprices and codes out there - it sounds hokey but there is real strength in this community! We love that having a place to talk honestly and openly about deals puts the power back into everyone's hands rather than the media and retailers.
It's not been all sugar puffs and candy floss - the times when we've wanted to strangle some members, the times you've wanted to strangle us (site redesign comes to mind *cough*), the continuous server crashes last year (thing of the past - fingers crossed!), the legal nastygrams from upset merchants (those will probably continue ;)) all come to mind but end of the day it's been a wild ride and we're hanging on for more!
To party like it's August 2004 (but with 99,999 more people at the party) we're giving away a ton (long tons thank you very much) of Amazon £2.50 gift certs. To try and keep people from gaming the party (you know the ones who drink all the beer, punch someone in the face and then pass out on the stairs) we have put in a little game called The Great Match Hunt.... What you have to do is collect 3 matches that will appear randomly while you browse HUKD - when you have 3 of them you'll get the voucher. Please note that you can collect a max of one match per day! Details and rules below but believe us, you can't really screw it up.
So thanks to every single one of you (there goes the next 28 hours) that make HUKD what it is today! 1,933,659 posts later we're still just getting started - according to wikipedia 100,000 metres is the altitude that spaceflight begins... how's that for cheese!

The Great Match Hunt Rules:
- Collect three matches while browsing HotUKDeals and you will get an Amazon £2.50 gift certificate code when all three are collected.
- Maximum of one match can be collected per day. Matches will appear randomly.
- Limit of one gift code per household. Limit of one gift code per member.
- You must be a registered and email validated member of HotUKDeals to participate.
- We cannot guarantee all members will receive a gift code. Supplies may be limited so priority will be given to existing members if there is a shortage.
