Great idea, I never thought of that!!!! ha ha. I have looked on the MCN website, but just wanted other bike riders thoughts....

good luck, let us know what u end up with! and a picccy please.
#4
According to mcn the best is the good old Yamaha DT125X's, but slightly over my budget me thinks.....

Get a little yammy scrambler, can pick up a second hand one pretty cheap and are very reliable.

Get the latest edition of What Bike. Best value for money seems to be the Honda 125CG. They seem easy to drive and cheap to maintain.

I have a cheap chinese copy. The Skygo Titan 125cc. Which was dirt cheap at £600 brand new.

I have a KMX 125 that I am about to sell. Whereabouts are you and what's your budget?

They are limited I was informed by the dealer today and retail at £2999.

It is a Yamaha YZF-R125 for your info...

It looks nice, but all superbike models in 125 looks rediculous as they're just to small(physically and engine wise) to pull it off.

I tend to agree with you on that, but haven't actually seen this one as they are hard to get hold of. If I think it doesn't look right I will just walk away...

yeah i agree also.

the size of the bike, size of the wheels (width mostly) and the size of the exhaust are the main aspects that make a bike look meaty. im only 19 though and currently have a car, the biggest i can get is a 125 unfortunately.

have you found a cheap price for it yet?
ive noticed fleabea has a dealer selling them for £2,995ish or something.

when are you going to see one?
#14
also, i have a full UK driving licence, what test/tests do i have to be able to take to be able to ride a 125?

thanks

My local stockist are going to ring me when they get another in. They said that they are like rocking horse poo so can't see how this person is selling them on fleabay....

Not for me thanks...

i asked the ebay seller if his price was fixed and he told me to ring him, so im guessing a couple £'s could be knocked off it if your interested. Keep posting here please id love to know what you decide

If I was getting a 125 I don't think I'd pay out for a new one. Go for a good make a few years older (you're bound to drop it a few times) I've got an old school Honda xl125. Great bike for off roading.
Don't forget you can only ride a 125 for 2 years with your CBT.

Yeah, but you can renew it every 2 years...

but don't you have to be off the road for a year? That's what it used to be.
Anyhow, surely you'd want to move onto something a little more appropriate;-)
#26
i need a little run about for england because i live between 2 countries at the moment. so need it road worthy.

where should i look for a nice looking decent run around, maybe for between £1k-£2k
#27
Have you looked at the Aprilia RS 125? As it's a 2 stroke it should have a potential performance advantage over the current crop of 125 machines.
#28
wow it looks nice lynus, any idea where best place to buy one of these would be?

Not really sure, they have been making these for years so it depends on how much you want to spend. Perhaps try http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikesforsale/

and www.dkmotorcycles.co.uk seem to have brand new ones.

As with most 2 stroke bikes you have to make sure you buy one that has been looked after as a lot will have been de-restricted and thrashed or possibly raced

Well I ordered it yesterday in Midnight Black
