All overpriced ones i've seen atm, costing around £500. They better put there prices down on these monitors when the 4k 144hz and ultra-wide 1600p monitor's come out.

No you got it wrong, he wants a 144mhz monitor, not a 144hz monitor. Sorry OP, those don't exist. (In all seriousness, to prevent confusion, they are 144hz not 144mhz)

Have a google at the Qnix QX2710. It's 1440p but overclocks to 90-120hz. Older versions used to skip frames to achieve that but the newer ones specifically state no frameskipping.
You can pick one up for around £200 from the looks of things, though some people have said watch out for import tax but can't find any reference to anyone actually having to pay it.
This is just a budget option of course before anyone points out that a true 144hz 1440p monitor would be better, if you find one of those for 200 bats then I'd like to see it :D
