20"+ Monitor for PC & XBOX 360

I'm going to university in the summer and need to have a monitor that I can use for my PC and be able to switch to my XBOX 360 instantly.

i.e I want to have my PC and 360 connected to the monitor and then use one button to switch between the two...

Looking to spend around £200 - can anyone advise?

Ideally I'd like a size above 20" and for it to be widescreen

Hi there, I had the same problem not so long back and I have this http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/113148, I have my XBOX360 going into analogue and PC in the gigital input, then its a single press on the front of the monitor to switch from one to the other. Works nicely.

I've been looking at that option...

Does the monitor have both DVI and VGA inputs?

Can you also let me know how the monitor performs with regards to the PC and 360.

thanks for any help

how about the Samsung SM205BW? One of the reviewers mentions suitability for 360:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/o/ASIN/B000F9SNIW/

Its a fiver cheaper at 195 from pc world if you do a collect in store.

Or there is the 22" IIyama listed in the hot deals section today.

That looks a lot better :D

I can't find the monitor at PC World though :|

Samsung seem to be really good at this sort of thing...

go for the samsung syncmaster SM940MW.

Although its 19 inch it is HD ready!!. it has a DVI and VGA output.

It can be used as a TV, PLAY XBOX 360 and as a PC monitor.

I picked one up from argos for £220 prior to xmas.

i think the price may have gone up since.

Thanks to barbour9 for the question as i wanted to ask a similar question but didn't want to start a new thread.
wanted to know the same as above as to which is best to run both pc and xbox/playstation on the same monitor but not bothered about tv.

I'm still unsure, but the SM205BW comes in at under £200, is compatible with both PC and 360 and is a few inches bigger. Also, in the specifications, it has a higher resolution than the syncmaster SM940MW, which is supposedly HD Ready...

the product number at http://www.pcworld.co.uk/ is 325043.
Put that in the search box and it'll find it.

Save up to 60% desk space against a standard PC monitor.
80% more energy efficient than an equivalent size standard PC monitor.

I assume they still think a "standard PC monitor" is a CRT type and yet the majority (all?) PCs seem to be sold with a flat panel now.

Can anybody confrim that the Samsung 205BW monitor has both VGA and DVI inputs.

Also, can anyone confirm that they have used the monitor with their PC and XBOX 360 simultaneously without problems?

One last thing - has anyone used this monitor with a PlayStation 2 and how do you do it?

yep definitely has both connections.
If you don't have a dvi in your pc you can get a dvi to vga cable or buy a new graphics card that does.
Have a look at the samsung website.

Also a round up/review of hdcp monitors here:
http://www.pcw.co.uk/personal-computer-world/compare/2163898/group-test-vista-ready-monitors

no idea about connecting a ps2 though.

No worries about the Ps2, but that site doesn't give the SM205BW much of a favourable review...

I'm in 2 minds now...

I've just found out about the SM206BW, but can't find any reviews about it...

I think I may go for the SM205BW but want to know the differences between them...
