I have a 59 reg Mondeo with 85k miles now. Its not seeming to like the colder weather this year as something sounds to be rumbling from under the bonnet, yet i cant see or pinpoint what it is.
The rumbling only happens when the car is cold, and the electrics are under heavy load (heated windcreen is on, Climate control is on etc).
I am wondering if it could be the alternator, although it is charging the battery up ok - and it wouldnt explain why it goes away once the car warms up after 10 mins or so. It might just be co-incidental and it might be something loose that is vibrating when the engine changes pitch?
Anyone got any ideas?
