I'm sure I'll be proved wrong by someone here, but at that level for a road bike (drop bars, skinny tyres etc.) I'd be thinking of something second hand.

If you can afford a little more (read 2x more...) I've heard very good things about Decathlons entry level bike.

If your just after a bike that can go on the road, you could look at halfords for their range. Avoid ALL suspension if its never leaving the road.

Cyclists like their forums, so google 'road bike forums' for a number of decent places to find yourself a decent 2nd hand bike or more specifc advice.
thank you m8
thanks m8 seen a 23 and a half inch road bike onamazon to but just to big for me as im only 5ft 10 with 31 inside leg

thanks singer
goto cyclechat.co.uk. theres loads of help to be had! i went there last year to get views on a first bike and they were really helpful, just make sure you tell them that £100 is the limit! i kept getting told if you can stretch it a bit, etc! also another good idea is to look on ebay for second hand ones near you, but if like me you havent a clue about bikes then just ask if they are good deals. i ended up getting a brand new bike off ebay for £170 delivered. it was the previous years model that had been £350 at launch!
thank you qid m8 i appreciate it
