22" Monitor

I am looking to upgrade my 19" widescreen monitor to something a little bigger.
I dont really do any intensive gaming so it does not need to be top spec.

I would like it to have a glossy type screen like my Sony laptop but cant say that I have seen any monitors like this anywhere.

I have seen the deals for the 24" Dells which are attractive but a little too rich for me.
Ideally I would be looking around the £400 mark but would go more for a great deal.

I have found this Acer AL2216W 22" for £271 delivered

Or this Acer AL2416Ws 24" for £399 - which is a real bargin except that it is *B Grade* with limited warranty - these tend to run at about £490 for a new one.

Or Samsung SM225BW for £295

Any help, input or experiences would be appreciated.

My problem with all these is that resolution is a bit low for 22". I'd expect something like 1920x1200 for that size of a monitor.
Samsungs are normally quite good in their monitors but you might want to take a look at Toms Hardware and the likes to get impression on what this screen is really like.

BTW, have you noticed that if you buy Acer from Pixmania and select it with VGA cable or Fellowes screen wipes it is actually 7 quid cheaper?
that res is good enough currychops
Review of Acer AL2216W. Seems to be an OK monitor, nothing special. No DVI though, unlike Viewsonic and Samsung.
I will buy dell's 24"
Thanks for all your help and links they have helped. Its been a tough choice weighing price against quality.

In the end the decision was made for me (well sort of). I got an email from Paypal telling me that I had recieved £120 from quidco and that was good enough for me to actually plump for the 24" Dell @£566.

Thanks again.
