Do you have a PC or laptop?

You could add a USB PCI card to your PC easily - At PCWorld look for product id 250876 - £15 via collect at store.

After that you can get whatever hard drive you wish.

A second option would be to add an internal drive.

If you have USB 1.1, you will be able to connect the external drive without getting a pci card. But the transfer rate between your pc/laptop and the external drive will be very slow.

can i not just save stuff directly on 2 the external drive as i dont need to transfer between the hard drives

Yes, you can save direct to it; things will be a little slow but not intolerably so with USB1.1; no harm in giving it a go - it will be functional, if not perfect. You can always add a USB2 card at a later date if you need the extra performance.

Cheers, Dio :)

will u sell the vouchers?
#11
ermm i would but how much would u pay for them

roadie - I'd really consider either getting a USB 2 card or perhaps better still an internal drive. If you dont, you're stuck with USB 1.1 transfer rates - about 1 megabyte a second. If you get an internal drive it should be able to read and write at around 50 megabytes a second - a huge difference! You could buy an internal 250gb drive for about £33 delivered after google-checkout discount from ebuyer (and you should get at least £25 for those vouchers!)

jah128 i understand what ur saying but i dont know how do i check if i have space to put another drive i dont like too much complications u see!
#14
yeah u should get 25 for the vouchers but i was thinking of getting a controller for my ps3 from amazon but they are selling it for £30 and i was thinking of getting it for 20.

if you buy your hard drive at ebuyer (to take advantage of the £10 discount for google checkout) you can addthis ..cheap as chips.
