Go for the 37" Samsung - John Lewis does one for £599 with 5 year warantee, if you don't want that deal, then go elsewhere for roughly £519

seen Argos doing a JVC for 499 in the paper today!!! Not sure about spec etc, but very very very good price for blue chip branded manufature TV.

the 37 at john lewis went back up to 649 as i was going to get it but then saw they had a special on phillips 42 inch plasma 649 used £20 voucher for first time customer and quidco for another 20 pounds so it cost be just over £610 and has a 5 year warrenty waiting for it to be delivered now cant wait:-D

I think with LCD TVs you should be going for a Samsung, Sony or Panasonic. I'm looking for one myself at the moment and personally I'm going for a Samsung simply because my parents and brother both have large screen Samsung LCD TVs, I've watched all kinds of stuff on them and can't fault them at all, much better pictures than I've seen on other brands. And when it comes to forking out that kind of money I wouldn't risk paying for something I hadn't already seen in action. So Samsung it is! I've got a similar budget - £500-700, and I'm looking for either a 40-42" 768, or 37-40" 1080p set.
