40 inch LCD Tv

Hi everyone. My trusty old Sony 29" monster has died and so I'm looking to replace it with a 40" LCD. I'd like to stick to Sony if possible but I'd consider other brands if the Tvs got good reviews.
My budget would ideally be £400-£500.

Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Have things not moved forward in this field?

Search for the Sony 3d deal on here for £499 with 5 year warranty

All the deals on this set seem to have expired. I'm not really interested in 3d though.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi there, like you I had a Sony tv and wondered how I could get such a great picture on one of the new tv's. We have purchased a 42" Samsung LED LCD TV and it's ace. The price of the wall bracket (if required) was a bit dear at £125 but we wanted to pay that as it makes it stand only mm's from the wall. You can get much cheaper brackets. The sound is good, not massively powerful but put through an amp its fab. We paid £799. Picture quality is ace, obviously you need good quality leads. We have QED and IXOS. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately £799 is out of my price range at the moment so I don't expect to be able to buy an LED TV.
I'll check the reviews on Amazon as suggested.

Best regards,
Jason.
