Looking for something portable to play avi files, but not sure what would be a good options to look at. Would need to have long(ish) battery life. Thinking of spending about £50-£150ish, but depends on whether there's anything good at this price.

Help/advice appreciated :-)

Lots of choice of archos, which would you recommend?

Nintendo DS with Moonshell?
If you already have a DSit would save on the outlay.

Have a look at http://www.dealextreme.com/search.dx/search.portable%20media%20player. A quick search brought up these...

These are slightly bigger in size. Search through the website and I am sure you will find some.

Just doing my bruvs PSP atm for him to take on holiday. Got him a cheap 8GB memory card and converting files to mp4 very easily as we speak, pretty quick as well tbh. May be worth thinking about as you can pick up some cheap ones second hand.
