I'm looking to take my partner away next year for our honey moon. I want to drive around the west coast of USA.

In August I can get the following:

Return flights (direct) with BA
Car rental (Ford Focus or similar)

Just under £2400.

Is that a price that I should be booking?

Thanks.

if your not sure of the deal, get in touch with trailfinders, voted best travel agent by which magazine, normally good on prices, my wife and I got BA flights to Toronto, 3 nights in the four star Sheraton on the falls Niagara with superior falls view then to Toronto for 2 nights in another 4 star hotel, all transfers inc.. cost us £1550..

Hi! Have a look at a company called holidays please. We went to Mauritius last year for our honeymoon and they were great. Went to an adults only /no kids boutique resort and they were extremely helpful and great value.

We spoke to our own dedicated travel agent throughout the purchase, afterwards, whilst on holiday ( to check all was okay) AND after to make sure we had a good time and no problems!

From over 200 holiday companies surveyed in the UK – Holidaysplease has been voted no.1 for customer service: - http://www.trustpilot.co.uk/review/www.holidaysplease.co.uk
Two time winner of “Online travel agency of the year”. Last win 2013-14
Our travel advisers usually have booked £5m+ worth of holidays in their careers
We have independent access to the whole market so we choose what is best for you not us.
We are ABTA registered & we use financially protected suppliers e.g ATOL
You receive a dedicated travel adviser with direct contact details, rather than a random member of a call centre
Unlike some other companies, your adviser will still be available after your booking to answer any questions you have and help you make the most of your holiday.

I'm sure they will be able to check flights etc for you and help if needed. :-)

A link is below for them

To me it seems like a good enough price.

It is only standard class, but I do get the car for the entire duration. It is in August too.

Won't it be more expensive using an agent though? I thought that given the time of year, £1200 each, including car was quite good and leaves some money in the budget to get hotels wherever I want.

I tried to price my holiday up without using them and couldn't beat them. Using the agent got us free food and drink for the 10 days we were away ( all inclusive compared to hotel only) :-). We tried Virgin etc but they were astronomical!

It can't hurt to give them a try, the least they will do is give you a ballpark. Also, you'll get the ATOL protection too in case anything goes wrong. :-)

Ok thanks. I will give it a go
#11
Anyone got any other input before I book? Thanks everyone so far!
#12
Impossible to tell without the car hire duration but if it is only two weeks then it sounds very expensive
#13
Norwegian Air has direct flights to Los Angeles from Gatwick for about 800 per person, even cheaper if you travel late August.
#14
when you check in tell them its your honeymoon and ask if they can arrange a glass of champagne for the flight, then mention it again to the flight attendants.... good chance of being upgraded

For the entire trip.

I plan on telling everyone it's our honeymoon :-).

I will try Norwegian. Thanks

Just tried Norwegian and it came up with £1722 without the car. Tempted to stick with BA as I would rather land in San Fran and I will get a better service.
