I am looking for a portable media player (something similar to say Creative Vision:M 30gb - which I had but it's broken :-( now).

I loved my Vision:M & could get it again but thinking of getting something else. A good size hard disk (probably more than 30gb) plus TV Out. TV Out is important because we use it frequently on our holidays. TV Out is a *must*.

Any recommendations?

I recommend the sony nwz639 which is a 16gb media player for both music and video.
I know you have said 30gb but this one is really good comes with great set of headphones, good quality sound and you can drag and drop off your computer so no need to syc to your pc.
one other good thing is you can download off bbc iplayer and drag n drop into your video folder and play.
costs anything from £90- £135 so worth looking around.

Thanks. I do like Sony products but would prefer a larger hard-disk.

I have lots of old recordings (going back 30 years or so) converted to .AVI files which we watch when we go away. Sometimes, we go away for month or more and therefore need extra entertainment to keep us going during that time. Movies help a lot but they take up lot of space. I convert my DVDs to AVI put them on PMP.
