Hello All,

My turbulent time of disappointment with Vodafone is finally over. So many wrong things - im done with them. Dead. Done.

So, asking colleagues about connectivity in the building, it sounds like EE is winning hands down. So ive checked my bills and although I was on Vodafones 20GB plan, I only ever came close to 12GB once (an 11GB month). The rest were 6-8GB data.

But factoring in cashback or free phones I could sell to play against the cost - am I missing any super sweet deals out there?

12GB data
Unlimited minutes
Unlimited texts
BT Sport app access
Use UK calls, text and data abroad
Enjoy our fastest 4G speeds
12 months contract length

Annoyingly, the one thing Vodafone had (20GB/£31) was that it came with Netflix for a year, which saved me a genuine £8. So was more like £23/month.

BT Sports App means nothing to be above.

its very rare to find a deal for a phone with a lot of data so if you need data then buying sim only is probably the way to go. EE is the best network so your deal seems good. I'm with three because I got a good deal £18 a month with £150 back (amazon and cashback) and id say they are the second best network.

Good to know. Judging by network coverage, EE is winning - but I know a lot of people piggyback them.

So thought about Virgin and this deal;

However, although this is EE Network, its not "4GEE Max" which apparently is the fastest 4G option they have.

Speed is my thing and the main reason im leaving Vodafone (coverage/speed).

after recent experience of changing phone companies after years of being with the same, I would never sign up to a 12 month deal without trying it out. don't listen to what the companies tell you, we moved from terrible 4g speeds to Life Mobile last year which was on 3G a colleague at work was getting 20Mb download speed on Virgin and with Life and Virgin using the same EE network I thought check the coverage charts and if our home area is covered then I would go with Life. In the end I could get near 20Mb at work but elsewhere including home where they said coverage was good, no signal. Tried a few different ones and went back to o2 again, their coverage in our area couldn't be matched. Daughter has Three now though, its good for her and with the friends and family referral means I only pay about £4 a month for 4GB, but even in our major city she doesn't have any coverage but where she needs it she does. get a 30 day sim first and don't be afraid to try the providers who operate using the main players networks.

I believe 3 also piggyback EE right?

I think the big USP for EE "Direct" is that you get "4GEE Max" which is upto 90mb/s where as piggy backing is 30 max.

Just noticed direct is currently £50 TCB --- which is nice.

Cant seem to find any deal above 3GB of data on Carphone Warehouse, who are meant to sell for all the networks - and offer price match too... But cant find it!?

Worth going into a store?

Also, the EE Chat lady said that going into an EE store maybe able to get a discount off the £25/20GB offer...

But that would obviously stop me getting £50 cashback... so would need to offer me at least a £5 a month saving... Doubtful.

no three have their own network. They have the best 3g and the second best 4g network. I get 50mb/s on three but ee can get more in some places. Another benifit of ee is that their roaming speed isnt capped. On three even if you get a good speed things like streaming seems to be reduced to an unusable speed. whatsappa and websites are fine though and they cover more countries (usa, hong kong etc)

I never leave the country so roaming means less than nothing to me :D

The missus is on GiffGaff and she made a similar statement to the above, but im 100% sure they piggyback EE.

there are 4 main networks in the uk. O2, Vodafone, 3 and EE. All the other companies use these companies networks. Virgin use EE, Giffgaff use O2, ID mobile uses Three etc
