Hi,
Looking for a laptop with 17inch screen with windows vista premium on .
Max budget £620 - mainly for watching tv, recording to hd, a bit of photo editing and storing photos and the odd game.
Looked at Dell 9400 -i1 gig ram, 160 hd 1.66ghz £609 +£25 delivery and the Acer 9303-120gb hd, 1 gig ram, 2ghz- £629 free delivery -both 1 year guarantee.
Any advice/opinions welcome.
Thanks

if it's the £699 Dell at this link then it includes shipping...out of the 2 it's the one I'd go for...remember to go through Quidco to get 4.5% cashback.

perhaps you could direct me to the link for the Dell you quote in your post.

Hi currychops ( i love curry too -hotter the better !!)
These are both on ebay at the moment- i have just been a bit worried about Dells customer relations (or not !!) and the fact i was told the parts are expensive if it breaks down although i do like the look of them !
Thanks

As you probably know ebay links are not allowed on HUKD...but if you PM me the link for the ebay deal I can have a look ....you have to be careful with some of the Dell sales on ebay as they can be refurbs.

Have you tried looking at Dells outlet site

sometimes there are real bargains to be had.

Glad you've reached a decision ..yes that's a good price for the Trulife...I think it's £23.50 with Dell...the only shame about the deal is the excessive cost of shipping but when you take the total cost into consideration it is much cheaper than on the Dell website even allowing for the 4.5% cashback and the free all in one printer....which to be frank is not very good as the replacement cartridges are so expensive.

Hi Currychops,
This one also has a 160gb HD as well as the truelife screen and a 9 cell battery- i compared with the other one with truelife screen at £629 and it had 120gb hd and a 6 cell battery - so thought thats only £10 more and i went for that at £639 .
Thanks again for all your help.

yep that's excellent...as I said if you look after the lappy then it should give good service...they do not like being abused...much like us humans really!
