I've clicked on the link but there is a lot of information there - does anybody know why this message has come up and if it is genuine? Also, has anybody else got this message since downloading the free version of Windows 10 that was available for people who had an earlier version of Windows? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The office that is 'Free' through Windows 10 is just a document viewer on anything that has a screen larger than 10.1 inches. You have to pay for a office 365 subscription if you want the full version.

nipstyler is correct - Windows and Office are two separate softwares so while you get a free version of Windows 10 you have to pay for the Office application. There are free options for Office replacement like Libre Office, Google Sheets / Documents and OpenOffice if needed...

I bought my computer from a shop on eBay - it said that it came supplied with Microsoft Office (been using it for over a year now). So, are you saying that by accepting the free Windows 10 upgrade offer, I now no longer have the full version of Microsoft Office that came with my PC - and have to pay out again for it? Thank you.

I've just had a look and I have the version of Microsoft Office 2010 installed on my machine - with Excel 2010 as well. I know it is working because my daughter has been using it for her college work. However, does it mean that it will no longer work unless I buy it again - I know that I purchased the Microsoft Office software with my PC over a year ago?

Have you thought it could have been an illegal office key being used? Yes they work initially but in the end they get blocked when multiple users have that key? Depends on the eBay shop,

Sounds bit like the office key that came with your machine has been Blacklisted. Contact the seller, if no joy there contact PayPal
