do you mean fitted or just the boiler itself?

Contact a few local corgi registered plumbers and get a quote from them, likely to be much better service and much cheaper than British Gas and the other big companies. Ask around friends and neighbours for recommendations aswell. Worcester Boilers are supposed to be pretty good, but don't know about other brands.

not much fussed with size or anything specific

Don't expect any useful answers then

If its a straight swap like for like id say about 900 - 1000

I should add thats suply and fit

Size will depend on the size of your house. Its no good having a 5 bed house running on on an undersized boiler. As already said, Bosch Worcester or Vaillant are the top drawer of boilers. You get what you pay for.

Combi or system boiler?
Size?
Budget?
Like for like or alter system?
Colour?:p

Anyone claiming to be CORGI registered is a conman

The CORGI gas registration scheme ended in 2009.

Hadn't realised that, though we've not used a plumber for the last few years. Looks like you need somebody on the Gas Safe Register these days instead. Thanks for the info termite.
