Advice for a Holiday in the USA 2009!

I`m thinking about going on a Family Holiday for 6 people to the USA.(4 Adults + 2 kids)in June/July 2009.
I`d like to rent a Villa with a pool for two weeks.
And I`d also like to visit most of the Theme parks whilst i`m there and would appreciate some advice on how i`d do/book this.
I really want to avoid Travel Agents as i`m sure i could get cheaper online myself, but have no idea where to start.
So if anyone knows any links where i can get a good deal for this i`d be grateful.
Thanks.

We went 2 years ago and rented this villa diectly from the owners for a really good price:

I can highly recommend it. The villa was just as you hope from the website and the location was fantastic. Alot of the agent rented homes are in quite slummy areas, but this was a lovely quiet family estate with good routes to all the parks.

You could also see http://www.vrbo.com for other properies

We had a great time & I'm sure you will too.

I go every year for the month of august, I love august out there - a lot of people prefer may/june but the american schools go back early August so its quieter out there, not so many americans ha ha - mostly brits then actually, and it seems to rain every day at roughly 4 0 0 p.m. lovely and cooling if you want any advise you could pm me with questions any time, I actually used to live in Orlando came back 4 yrs ago, my friends also own disneydaze villas but I love going to a place called Cypress Harbour, its a resort, I own a timeshare in Wales but I go to Cypress Harbour every year, a lot of people are not sure of timeshares also I have had one for over 10 yrs and I have really loved it, would never ever sell it and once you are in the system you get 12 gettaways (which I use for the USA) every year:thumbsup:

www.themeparkdirect.co.uk for our tickets
as for flights search around both charter and schedule, www.travelsupermarket.com is quite good

I seem to think we paid around £450 a week for it, but I've deleted all the e-mails now as it was so long ago.

We booked our flights through www.A1travel.com and saved ourselves over £1k (& a whole load of queuing as we flew 3 days after the bomb in a shoe incident & had no delays whereas Heathrow was at a standstill) by flying to Glasgow and direct to Sanford. I think we flew Ryanair to Glasgow, stayed overnight in an on airport hotel, and flew out at 10am in the morning so lovely flight times. Our flights to Sanford cost £1400 for 2 adults & 2 children in August.

We ordered theme park tickets in advance & collected in person from:

http://www.floridaticketorder.com/catalog/index.php

We bought:

2 x Pirate's Dinner Adventure - Adult () = $61.88
2 x Pirate's Dinner Adventure - Child () = $52.48
2 x Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede - Adult () = $75.02
2 x Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede - Child () = $35.58
2 x 10 Day Disney Base Ticket Adult () = $420.56
2 x 10 Day Disney Base Ticket Child () = $341.70
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $987.22

I wouldn't advise buying any more than the 10 day ticket to use in a fortnight as you'll just be shattered, and there's so much more to see and do anyway.

I recommend Wonderworks for a 1/2 day and of course the Kennedy space centre.

We enjoyed Busch Gardens and Seaworld more than the Disney parks, but that's down to personal taste.
