My trusty Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 died yesterday (not to be confused with the current S3).

Any advice please on a new tablet under £250. Looked at the new Amazon Fire but don't think their app store has all the apps I would want to have. Not ruling out an Ipad mini but would probably an Android one. Would rather another 8 inch tablet, with a micro SD card capability...

Thanks ever so much in advance.

This is the same budget as mine. I've been looking around to see if I can find a Samsung Tab S2 8" for under £250 but cheapest I've found so far is £300. Also looked at the Samsung Tab A but I found it be to be a bit of a heavy weight compared to the S2

If you go for the amazon fire the Google play store is very easy to install so you can run all there apps on it. I installed it on my sons fire in less than 15mins and I am not technical. also they are very good for the money

Didn't know you could do this! I guess it is just the opposite as me running Amazon App store on my Google Play tablet/phone.

Went from the tab3 8 to the tab a 10, good upgrade, make sure you look at the 10 inch rather then the 9 inch 'a' though as better specs on the 10 inch.

I have a fire HD 6 it's a good tablet with a nice screen but I wouldn't recommend a fire cos they don't have the regular play store unless you root them and the fire store barely has any apps I think it still may not even have an official YouTube. I'm not sure about the new fires though they might come with the play store.

you should be able to pick up an 8 inch galaxy tab s2 for that sort of money, maybe even with 4g.

Guide is on YouTube it takes 10 min to put normal play store
The tablet is very durable only annoying thing is the ads but u can pay £10 to remove them

I'm looking myself and now the nVidia shield has been discontinued there don't seem to be a lot of good alternatives circa £200. The Asus Zenpad 3S has been to £260 recently and the Huawei M3 looks to be another reasonable S2 alternative but haven't been discounted from £300 yet.

thanks for all advice guys so far. anyone seen the Huawei mediapad m2 8.0? like that the screen is close to the edge whereas the fire has a big plastic border around.
