Hi, i dont know anything about bikes, just want a half decent bike to get to work on. Don't want a full road bike without front suspension incase i want to take it off road occasionally. Not sure what im looking for and how to get the most for my money. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Make sure you get the right size bike as riding a bike thats too small is not only knackering but you look a pleb

lol, cheers, ive looked that up aswell. I might go to halfords first to test the bikes for size.

Here. Great for road use, has lock out forks. Also good for trail use. Good selection of components on a alloy 6061 frame. Was never worth £600 to be fair but you wont find a better all round bike for £300.

Try the cycle to work scheme. If you are an employer, ask your boss to sign up to it. You will get a bike for double this and pay only half over a period of 12 months. No interest to pay and the money is set off by NI contributions etc.
Try westendcycles in colwyn bay. They have some great specialized and marin models

I would go for a Hybrid type bike. Its a road bike but gives you that ability to go off road. Best to go to the dealer and get the right frame size, it makes all the difference. You can get a very good bike between £300-£350 - i recently got a claud butler and its the best bike i've ever bought. Good luck
