Hmmmm- bit perplexed by this post - as you say that you HAVE all the modern computers?

Going by your description of what you want to do - any laptop that has microsoft Office suite or 365 or Apples similar product will give you all of the applications and software that you need.

With respect to the laptop itself, that is a personal choice, normally made by a combination of cost vs Memory vs performance and so on. There are some very good deals at the moment on here and I am sure that others will offer advice after this post.

Pretty much any laptop will do what you're asking. If money is tight buy a 2nd hand ex-business laptop (Dell / Lenovo) and get a new battery. My Wife (teacher) does all her prep on a 6yr old Dell with a 14" screen. No need to spend big

Trainee teacher - you have to remember that most of the 4 years is spent teaching them how to not tell the time (_;).

As for the question, are there no discount schemes available through the course??

What you are wanting to do is fairly basic, so the cheapest device with a screen that is easy to read, a keyboard that is comfortable to use; and with a battery life of a couple of hours or more.

The first two are highly subjective, so recommendations dont really work.

maybe you can think about size -do you need 17' or 15' will be fine. do you need number keyboard...

look up chromebook. very lightweight and mobile. it works using cloud so you can easily sync all your documents, calendar ect to all ur pc's and smart phones. it doesn't run on windows and uses apps like a tablet.

I thought your school would supply you with a 'cheap' iphone and ipad nowadays? ie just lease it innit :p
But if you're the free thinking type, unlike those poor brainwashed, soon to be up to their eyes in debt once they go to uni, pupils, then as above chromebooks are great and v.cheap!

Those Linx deals with keyboard for £100 would do the job you need.

The school you work in will likely provide you one. I was provided with an aging Lenovo. Like you o thought I'd get my own laptop, the school would not allow me to have any assessment, pupil or school related information on my personnel laptop.

Thanks for marking down.

Maybe you forgot "students" learn & do their homework in Microsoft Office.

Not Linux & not chrome/android.

Lots of schools use Chrome OS now for various things.

They didn't give me one and I'm having to travel between lessons to the computer room....it's taking a lot of my time
