I moved in to a new flat about two weeks and was about to receive some really important mail, I didn't receive it, upon phoning the concerned they said they have deliver it to another flat in the building, and no one opens the door on that flat, I've been gone mad since two days, what should I do?

the post office are legally obliged to deliver to the address on the envelope, if they delivered the mail to the wrong address then there is a breach of contract between the sender and the post office as the person receiving the mail you have no legal rights.
the sender must complain to the post office and if they have delivered to the wrong address I think the maximum compensation they are obliged to pay is £50 but you will need to check with the PO and the sender to check the correct address was put on the envelope and it was clear and easy to read.

upon phoning the concerned meant the sender made a mistake and sent it to another flat :/

If it's a block of flats, is there not some sort of property manger who can help?
or...
You could try putting a note through their letter box asking them if they could put it through your letter box, if they still have it? If its VERY important to you, you could even offer them a fiver or something to give it back.

Make up a parcel and put an imitation bomb inside and send it to the flat where your mail is ...............that'll get the buggers to open the door ................that's if someone is inside .
Another , put 4 or 5 beefburgers through the letter box of the same flat and wait 3 or 4 weeks . Then ring up the Police and say there is a terrible smell coming from the flat .......................Has someone expired ? ........... The door will be opened .

1. Does anybody live in that flat.
2. Do you look like a jehovahs witness/ religious fruitcake
3. Do you look like a criminal

Multiple reason why some one will not open the door to you, however if you looked like.....

No use asking on here they've all been gone mad since a lot longer than two days :p

can you get it re-sent? or delivered electronically? (e.g. if it was a form or something)
not sure the person whose flat it was delivered to has any obligations.....did they even accept delivery or was it just pushed through their letterbox?
and frustratingly, RM deal with the sender as they're the ones with who the contract is with.

thanks for all the feedback, I have asked the sender to resend it I'm just a bit worried how they will respond and the guy might open my mail as it has some confidential information.
