your processor is minimum reccomended spec, so that is a good place to start upgrading. if you want 4k resolution, then you will need a new gpu and monitor too.

Best way to tell if your cpu or gpu needs upgrading is to have gpuz and programme callex coretemp.

Run both programmes then open up your game and run it for a good 15 mins. If your cpu is running at 100% but your gpu is say 50%, your cpu is bottlenecking. Vice versa for gpu bottleneck.

I've no idea what that description means. Are you saying the result wasn't as smooth as you'd like?

The 390 is still a powerful card so unless you're running at a high resolution or being picky about settings then that's not likely to be the limiting factor.

Maybe he means minimum but not recommended?

Ok thanks everyone. I think I'll start with the cpu and get a decent monitor. See where that goes. I thought when getting the 390 it was slightly future proof due to direct x12. Maybe I'm wrong there but I'll try the first 2 ideas first. Just want he most out of what I've got really but to be fair it does well at everything I throw at it on high or ultra
