Hi, hope someone can help.
My T-mobile contract has expired and I am looking at getting a different phone on contract, however T-mobile do not have the phone I am after, but http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk do have the phone I want (HTC Touch Diamond 2) on T-mobile. When I phoned mobilephonesdirect they stated I should contact T-mobile and get my band price so that I could upgrade, however when I contacted T-mobile they said "oh we have spoken with mobilephonesdirect and the phone your after is about £400 to buy" when I explained then that I will just end my contract and start a new contract and buy the new phone at £67.99 on a £20 per month contract the woman from T-Mobile said "oh be carefull they are just working on a cashback offer and you will get stung" and then basically tried selling me a different phone.
Overall after that Jackanorystory can someone please explain is buying from a third party ie mobilephonesdirect as safe or as good as buying from T-Mobile direct, what are the pro's and con's?
Thanks very much.

Any cashback deal is a risk, if you miss sending them a bill you lose all the payments from then on, remember these company's make their money from people failing to get their payments.

If T don't do the phone don't expect any support form them, the network only have on file info for their own stocked handsets.

On the plus side, if you get all the cashback payments you get a very cheap contract.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
However just to clarify though, the deal from mobilephonesdirect does not mention anything about cashback, its just a straight £20 per month which is the same as T-Mobile and the phone for £67.99, I'm sure I'm missing something but there doesn't seam to be any catch.

Sounds a very good bargain, the cost hardly covers the cost of the handset !!! 12 months at £20, £260+£67.99...

You sure it's only 12 months and there no cashback involved ?? The only one's I can see on the site with the phone at 67 quid at 18 and 24 months ?
