hi my nanny recently died and left me £400- my granddad wants me to buy something with it- i do need a laptop (reading this so far-i sound like a child but am 30!)anyway- i thought id get rid of my big computer, transfer stuff to a laptop- am after a laptop that is wireless, and has a big memory- am a supply teacher so need it for school work and downloading lots off the internet.
thats about all my criteria i have! i also have quidco- so could get some money back.

this 6400 is about as good as it gets for £400....don't forget to go through Quidco for 4.5% cashback

agreed, Dell are doing some fantastic deals most of the time.

i cant buy the hardware to build one for less than they want to build configure and ship it with free software....

Dell have a lot of good offers at the moment, read my topic about "how to save £100's from dell" which you could do by negotiating over the phone and then once you buy the laptop, call them within 14 days to cancel and then they'll either give you £30 back or give you about 10-15% of the orders price in accessories to keep the order.

Here's the topic: http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47540

P.S i'm sorry for your loss...... i hope your gain will at least make you feel a little better and we are behind you for anything you need. :)

the spec on the 6400 will do all that you require...if you want a wireless router then we'll need to know if you are on ADSL or cable for your broadband...you can easily transfer documents..by loading onto a USB flash storage device and then copying to the laptop..or by transfering to CDR or DVDr and transfering...where are your current documents stored..I assume on a desktop PC?

Have you a quidco account cos it'd be a shame to throw away a 4.5% cashback..you can also shop on Dell by e value code..the one for this laptop is
305-N03642

take a look at this link
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/emea/topics/ecomm/evalue?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&~ck=anavml

You'd be better off buying a laptop bag elsewhere..there were some on www.play.com at reasonable prices...tenner or so but not sure if they are still in stock.
