AGP Graphics Card

Looking for a good graphics card to go in my spare system, needs to be AGP and I want to spend around £30-£40, system is XP2000 overclocked to XP2600, with 1gb memory, running XP.

My son uses it in his bedroom, we have x360 and he has an Xbox1 in his room, but he may want to play the odd game, appreciate he won't manage the latest and greatest but would like the best i can get for the money.

Any recommendations?

Thank you!

My current system has a msi nvidia nforce board 8x agp, with integrated gpu (which can of course be disabled), anyone aware of any conflicts possible with ATI cards? Board is a K7n2g.

ATI cards should be fine...just ensure you download the latest drivers from www.ati.com

Pretty sure the 9550 can be softmodded to 9700pro, so have a look around. It's easy to do you just install the omega drivers (google) and it has an option to install the softmodded version of the drivers.

You could of got better, that graphics card will run old games no problems but you'l struggle with quite a lot of things. I've got a 9600pro and it's doing my nut in :o

If your willing to spent more look around for a 6800GT second hand, you'l get one for £50... not sure how much they are on ebuyer with the whole £10 google discount..

Sorry, didn't see the post in time, but the 9800SE AIW is available at Retek:

http://www.retekdirect.co.uk/acatalog/Video_Cards.html

Works out about £27 delivered, only 90 warranty but TV and Radio tuner added to the mix!

Not to worry though, you got a good price and the 9550 will be a nice step up from on-board.
