Don't bother, just take the plunge and go for a PCI-E system. You'll not get much better than that in an AGP card, speed wise the 9800's aren't too shabby even by today's standards it's just the newer shader model and DX10 support that it lacks. Imho you'd be wasting your money if you plan to upgrade soon anyway.

This card might be worth considering - 7600GT for £60 delivered after GC. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/127243 Gives you shader model 3 support and should be a decent step up from a 9800 I reckon.

megalomaniac might be right though, depending on what you have now a new motherboard might let you use DDR2 which is dirt cheap and also get a good value 8800 etc. Depends what your budgets are and when you can get money (now is a great time to upgrade due to google checkout).

I too am in the same position now that i realise i can't run the new colin mcrae game :( on my x800pro card. There's no way i can switch to pci-e being that i only have £100 to get a new card with though so i may use that link for the 7600GT.

I bought this card last week and arrived this Tuesday, It`s a cracking card, I had a Nvidia 6600gt and Test Drive unlimited would only just play on 600x800, now I can play it on max res and high detail. Its fantastic!!!!
Go for!!

Cheers

Pete
