I ordered a phone from Aliexpress. I was fully prepared to wait for a while for it to arrive. But they closed the order due to a security issue. I can 'appeal'. This involves sending a photo of my driving license or passport and a photo of the payment card or statement. The Amex payment went through fine even with a 'secure' check.

I've never had this with any other site. Any one else had this? I'm not really comfortable sending them those details.

It doesn't appear to be a scam page as that was my first thought

PS. I forgot to mention there is already another purchase from the on the way from the same card (Android box)

As I think had been said on other threads, it's like amazon marketplace. So lots of sellers under aliexpress.com.

You need to find a reputable one when buying something expensive (I've bought phone cases etc before and haven't given a monkeys as it's only a pound or two).

So look at feedback etc for the seller just as you would on Amazon or ebay
