My dad has to take Alka seltzers every day due to liver problems ,the doctors know this is the best thing for him but cannot prescribe anything similar so he has to buy them ,if he could save a bit of money on them that would be great,
I know this belongs in deal requests but no one looks there

You can get Boots advantage card points at Boots. Might be worth checking out poundland, the often have medicines in there cheaply.

Wow - I suggest that your dad visits another G.P. as Alka Seltzer only contain Sodium bicarbonate, Aspirin & Citric Acid or just grab a copy of the BNF and find something similar thats available on prescription. are you sure the G.P. has told him that - I'm dubious.

Because his condition is terminal and this is the only thing that comforts him his specialist said to keep taking it, tried hospital pharmacy and local chemist and neither found anything on prescription

If he has a medical exemption card due to his illness or a pre-payment prescription card then pop into the pharmacist and see if they can give him anything on the minor ailments scheme for free.
