Unfortunately our dell all in one printer packed up today. I'm looking for a CHEAP but reliable replacement. Want to pay around £50 or less, I know that's not a lot but my budget is a bit tight at the moment. I would prefer one which the cartridges are chepaer to replace. Seen a couple on the currys/ comet website but don't have the knowledge to know what I'm buying. Can anyone help?

Buy an EPSON you cant go wrong.
Sometimes you may have to pay a bit more upfront, but you will save that in cartridge price in no time.

There can be a lot of difference in the price of epson compatible cartridge models(which are 90-100% as good as originals).

So have a look to see which models are around and then check the likes of ebay to give you an idea of cartridge price. Then weigh up the pros and cons from the info you have gathered.

Canon can be good if you can get the cheaper cartridges, again check ebay, if you cant forget it.

Lexmark etc, buy CHEAP now, cartridges are nornmally less thyan half full, cartridge prices will cost you as much as printer again or even more, every time you need to refill
amazon have on here
within your price range free shipping as well:-D

ink very reasonable from ukdvdr here

Yes epson printers ,you can buy cheap replacement inks omline
look at this from tesco.
well done emortal cheaper than tesco and free delivery at amazon
First things to look at before buying , consumable prices :can it take compatables and price them first ,next is ; you want a printer/scanner to take separate ink cartridges , you know 1 magenta , 1 yellow , 1cyan etc.You cannot go wrong with a Epson .Argos sometimes have some deals ,have a look there.
Thanks guys. I'm thinking maybe the Epson. What is the difference between the DX7400 and the DX7450???? The amazon price looks good but I need it asap and argos have the DX7400 for the same price. What does evewryone think?
Have a look on the epson site you will find out all about them
hi, I just bought one yesterday. I boughta all in one printer & fax machine. My priority was that it had a faxe / flatbed scanner and vista compatible.

I got a brother MFC 235 from Maplin Electronics - . It was only £49.99 including delivery.

Brother has have compatible ink cartriges. In fact for this machin you are getting a set of 4 cartriges from Cardridge people for £11.

I hope this helps.
the kodak printers are supposed to be the cheapest printers to run overall (8p a photo, 1.8p/ b&w page or something like that). The cartidges are £6.99 for the black and £9.99 for colour and thats for genuine kodak inks, not some dodgy knock off refills

The printers are about £50 too:

Also remember quidco on that (and possibly vouchers). I've seen this in store, despite it saying delviery only (although thats free so no problems there either...)
I also am looking for new printer as my epson r300 has error message, ink pad is full, grrr!

The new printer would also need to be able to print on cd's any ideas, thanks in advance.
