All In One Printer Inc Fax - Cheapest and Best for Ink and Quality?

Hi All,

I am on the look out for a new all in one printer that includes a fax, print, scan and copy! It must be able to do good quality prints as from time to time I print photos.

I usually print about 100 pages a week in black.

So I need to be able to replace ink at a cheap price.

I dont want to spend over £100.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Look for an Epson SX600FW, it has hq photo reproduction, fax machine, and its even got wifi. Cartridges can be had for about 1.50 each off ebay. You can occassionally find one for less that 100 but normally go for about 130. But I can vouch it is a quality printer. Hope this helps

i've got a brother dcp-135c which is very good.

thing is, if you only very occasionally print a photo, why not use online services which will probably be just as cheap and save you the extra expense of having to purchase a higher-end all in one?

eg, my AIO cost me about £30, inks cost about a fiver a set or so.

The difference of £70+ on the other AIO mentioned would buy a lot of photo printing, yes?

I run a small office and the photos are attached to a window display so this will not be possible unfortunately.

whyever not? what difference does it make if you print something or if a company prints something and sends it out a day or two later?

anyway, i'd expect the photo print capabilities of my AIO to be reasonable enough. check out some reviews, i think the version above mine has a fax built in.

I can recomend HP 3050, 3052, 3055 and M1522nf for black and white prints. the last two have fax as well. but all have scan, copy and print function no photos. You can buy genuine cartridge for around £30 from a well known bidding site and it prints around 2000 prints i.e. 1.5p a print.

Hi All,

Thanks for all your replies. Ive been to Currys today and they were saying the new Lexmark range is pretty good and fits my requirements, but Im unsure with regards to lexmark.

With regards to compatible inks are the quality similar to genuine inks?

Sorry to go on but I just want to be sure before buying.

Thanks again

You can't go wrong with that. Excellent bit of kit.

Would suggest you buy jettec / inkrite or similar compatible inks instead of the junk cheap ones from fleabay. 7dayshop is a good place to get decently priced compatibles.

if only using black mono laser is best option, a toner in your example will last over a year and wont ever need a purge cycle

note this does not fax, but still the laser message is still true
