alternator for a PT Cruiser Diesel needed nottingham/derby area

Anyone know where i can get an alternator for the above,,,,,,was quoted £1300 from chrysler fitted......£700 stand alone,would be cheaper to put another car under the bonnet at the moment.

A replacement alternator for a standard car would be £70 - £300 max. I think you are getting ripped off, unless there is some kind of fine applicable for buying an American car ;-)

you should be able to get one refurbished rather than fit a new or reconditioned one

check with alternator specialists

that seems expensive but most parts are with chryslers but you prob know this already, i will keep i eye on this thread as i have a pt cruiser also, had no major expense on mine as yet only cambelt change which was more than a normal car at £400

Alternators can be normally reconditioned to be made functioning again. Any decent place will take out the faulty one and recondion it!
