Hey guys qick question for the techys. Ive been looking at getting a firestick for streaming kodi. Im not very technically gifted and have seen sticks on ebay which claim to have all the hard work done with sports streams etc all set up and with the ability to auto update all the apps and streams etc

Anyone have experience with these? Roughly costing about 25 pound more but tbh if they work as well as claimed theen itd be perfect for me as im useless at that sort of thing and wouldnt manage the set up

Cheers guys

Kodi doesn't give you any streams, illegal add-ons do.

Anyway, no, you're wasting your money, given the nature of the dodgy add-ons they get shut down and blocked all the time so within a few months you'll have to set it up again with new ones so why not just do it yourself in the first place and save some money if you're going to have to do it anyway.

Hey I am no expert but from what I have learned so far the free streams are often unreliable and have to be updated which sounds technical to me, You have the option to pay for more reliable service which I here works, But worry myself who is that money your paying ending up in the hands of?

It Could be Human traffickers, drug smugglers or even Terrorists like Isis's revenue stream you are funding! It's so dodgy the streams are not provided by legitimate sources at all,

what else could you be downloading in the streams of data? Spyware virus's etc, for these reasons I have stayed well away, I would rather pay for Netflix or something and watch sports free in the pub or at a pals place than fund evil scumbags here or more often abroad!.

Hi thanks for reply. Some are claiming to update and produce more apps streams etc if old ones are shut down.

I see your point but tbh im paying 60 odd quid for full sky paying for bt sports yet still couldnt watch the game as its on premier sports. Its becoming ridiculous the way they keep spawning more channels to make more cash. Would be another 11.99 a month for premier which i can afford just dont like being robbed lol

Yeah don't go buying a so called fully loaded one. much easier doing it yourself. Install a build and the good ones get updated regularly.

hi I'm not good at tech bought fully loaded fire stick with kodi off ebay paid a bit more for auto update and works great just don't do amazon updates some streams go but once you find your way around works great id recommend seller Dannymoffin77 as he will give you all info & should you cock up will reinstall

Cheers for reply

I do pay for netflix mate its good value and i dont mind paying for it at all. Im happy to pay fair price for most things but like many others am fed up of being ripped off by sky etc. I intend to keep my sky package its more for games that either arent televised here or shoehorned in some random channel lol

kodi is very simple to install and the sources in kodi are very easy to add. you don't need to be tech savvy to do it. you just need to follow a step by step guide. once you learn how to do it you will laugh at people who pay extra to have it done. it's just copy links down and going into the repository and installing them. very very easy. have faith in yourself and save a few quid. they you can add more addon as you go and keep it updated. BTW all kodi addon auto update do don't pay extra for that lol

I run kodi on a fire stick. I previously installed one of the all in one "builds" on it, but find it very sluggish - there's too much content, I only use a small handful of add ons, the rest want to update all the time and it really slows it down.

Just buy one from a shop / Amazon, install the addons you will use, and nothing more. You'll learn a little (and it is really easy to do), and you won't be dogged by updates. Wiping mine tomorrow to do just that.

Nope. Take a look at https://seo-michael.co.uk for decent instructions.

I've helped a few people install Kodi and builds onto Fire Sticks, Android boxes, computers and tablets. I've never charged a penny and it's been done via walkthroughs, etc; on a remote basis. If you pay for a fully loaded one, you'll quite likely have to redo it anyway.

just buy a new kodi and google or YouTube addons will take u couple of hours but u will know how to.do it as every time it need updates etc u will have to do it again
you will need
fire stick
laptop or android app apptofire on your phone
everything has been showed step by step on YouTube videos so you can pause n do it

You might find that downloading is illegal not streaming. Don't get ripped off buying fully loaded ones off ebay because you can easily find how to guide on Google.

To the OP. ill try and help... I mean someone above posted about terrorism to your enquiry about purchasing a fire tv stick from ebay lol.

I have had mines a few months now . I have ended my virgin tv service recently as i could not justify £35 month to vm thats also with no sports or movies. I also have freeview hd and have to reluctantly pay the tax on that.

What is streaming, what will you use it for?

Will tv stick/kodi replace your LIVE tv service?.. .no. Its has some addons, for kodi but quailty is poor (around 260p) unless u pay for subscriptions which then sorta deafeats the purpose of this. Hence why i will still use freeview

Can you access TV shows in SD quailty and recent years HD (usually use 720p)...yes.

Can you acess movies just like above ... Yes.

The stream link's are usually reliable and unbroken. Kodi is years ahead to a degree of what it once was and will find you a link and play it with one click. Kodbwill auto update addons and developers sometimes put out beta addons if the old one is broken and is a doddle to install with a smart phone l

Kodi will feed alot from. Watchseries depending on the addon. Over the past year l, i think my vm Internet has been down more times than watchseries server That says alot. I

You are not going to get blu ray quailty or even the same quailty as say sky hd or vm hd would do to a degree, but in my opinion its outweighed the cost so far. Best £35 i have spent in the last few months I would recommend it. Also to answer your orininal question, buy it from amazon and install yourself takes a few mins max and is so easy my granny could do it :)

Im sure people may disagree with me, but after have had no reliability problems with streaming really impressed wirh it. I did had to factory reset the stick once as i got splash screen death and reinstall everything. . Streaming is not illegal. What you stream or watch can be.

My 2 cents

Thanks very much for reply. Someone has kindly helped me to install wookie build on kodi to my computer to play about with. So far so good it seems to work well bit clunky but thats probably just me. Once i learn how to work it il b sorted

I plan to use it basically to stream sky channels i already pay for upstairs and to watch some sports as i plan to get rid of sky sports eventually.

Going to buy stick thursday and follow the guide that ive been given by the helpful hukdler and hopefully hve it runnin on the stick

I was quite impressed with the quality of streams too with wookie no stutter etc but im using a fairly recent macbook pro with it atm but i assume itll be as good on the stick

I have now bought a few sticks and loaded Kodi myself after viewing helpful instructions on Youtube. Takes all of 20 mins max.

I have updates turned on for just a coupe of addons - all others are sitched off. You just ned to check the settings and remove the default ones you don't need.

I pay £21 a month for the full sky package. Retention deals are great. As for firesticks. I've used them for a while and have done them for people at work. Hit and miss, they can work well for some. I always got fed up of the rubbish quality streams.

Heard about the Now TV boxes, you buy the Now TV box and install 'plex' onto it. Pay £3 to activate your account, head over to royal plex and pay a subscription fee around £30/40 a year and it has all TV channels you desire, also most of the Films and Tv shows. You can also request new films and TV shows you would like to watch by contacting them or join there facebook group also called 'Royal IPTV'. Ebay also sell the plex subscription search: Plex Now Tv in Ebay
