Hi all, first of all thank you for anyone and everyone who helps me with this, i am most grateful.

My budget is around £300 - £400.

I have a sony aw15 projector all set up now but i need to add a decent amp into the system.

I have narrowed it down to the Yahama AX861 at £250 and the Onkyo TXSX605. If any others please advise. I am going to connect my sky hd, and dvd player aswell, also ntl box. An ipos facility would be great. Can someone please advise which one they would go for and why.
I want the hdmi port coming from the amp straight to the projector which is 1080i, so i believe that hdmi audio is not really required. Could someone please advise as to which one to go for or any others. Thank you

I have an oldish Denon receiver and if I had to choose I'd go for the Onkyo every time. All the reviews are glowing & my next door neighbour's is the business. Make sure you have some decent speakers to go with it or performance will be limited by the speakers. If your budget is tight go for the Tannoy efx's posted a few pages back or if you have more splash out on some Kef's or Jamo's. The Tannoy's are a stonking price.
magic, how bout the yamaha ax861. anyone have that
can anyone else recommend anything, perhaps the onkyo 606
Have a look at the reviews available here:

If you can afford on Onkyo don't bother about the Yamaha's
