looking for help on a certain issue. Related to the following 2 apps:

1) one weather

2) smart app lock

in regard to the first one, I have one of the widgetstn my homescreen which displays the weather & the time. On my op3 i works fine & the time is always accurate but on my huawei (p9) and honor device the time seems to stop keeping track.

internet is not required to be on for the time to display correctly a on my op3 it keeps telling the right time even if wifi and data are off.

i think it must be something to do with what apps are left running when the screen i switched off.

- I have done the following in settings:

advanced > battery manager > protected apps (allow apps to keep running after the screen is turned off) > i have enabled 1 weather so it is allowed to keep running

- auto closing of power intensive apps is disabled

settings > apps > advanced > ignore optimizations > 1 weather is allowed

I can't see any other options from the settings menu that that wold be having an effect.

The fact it runs fine on my op3 implies it must be sth to do with huawei/honor optimisation or doze feature

second app (smart app lock) is a similar issue. it seems to auto disable itself but irregularly. sometimes its when I close all apps (which i tend to do each time i switch off the screen) other times do that & it's fine but when i switch off screen then switch back on again its disabled.

again I dont have the issue with the same app on my op3 so it must be to do with huawei/honor or emui

fyi i previously had a p8 lite and had the exact same issue with the same 2 apps.

anyone any suggestions?

Total guess. Could be the huawei launcher. Maybe? Try a different launcher. I would say go post the question on the xda forum under the section for your phone. Answer may already be posted there

Im already running the same (zen ui) on all phones.
Issue exists on the huawei/honor.devices whether I use launcher or stick with emui

it's possibly a battery saver issue which the huawei has that the oneplus hasn't.

look on XDA.com and ask

On my xiaomi I have to go.. Settings. Battery. Manage apps battery use. This is where I stop apps from shutting down in the background. I can pick specific apps. You have a different phone though.

Yeah as explained in my original post ive done all the options that I can ser that would have an impact incl which apps are allowed to run when screen is off and disbaling auto force closing of said apps to preserve battery life

If you go to the playstore and find the app. You have the option to look at reviews for.. Latest...or... Your device only. Select your device and see of what reviews say. That will tell you if everyone is having trouble with your phone or just you. If is just you then message the developer from the contact info on playstore and hope you get a reply. Normally get something back but not always helpful but worth a try.

Interesting....
Also just noticed that if I leave on wifi/mobile data the weather app WILL run in the background with the screen off ....so it mist be linked to internet settings too. Bit again.on my op3 works fine and does run in.background even.with wifi/date off.... in case that gies anyone any further ideas of what the issue could be?

Maybe you have found a bug with your device and contacting the developer may result in a fix. I could never get the BBC weather app widget to work on a doogee x5 pro. Nor could I get tinyscan to work properly on my lg g4. It happens annoying as it is. The app developer is your best bet.
