Ordered a free data (250Mb/m) SIM from Three after seeing it in a post on here but on putting it in my iPhone there's no free allowance - CS says this is because it's a "broadband" SIM and won't work in ANY phone.

Anyone know of an EE or Three SIM with free data I can use in an iPhone? Just want it for messaging on the Tube. TIA

Actually, that's what I ordered but CS insist they won't work in any phone? Keeps asking me to top up whenever I try it.

I've got that Three 200mb data reward sim and it works fine in my phone. I got it roughly 5 months ago and I've never topped it up at all. The 200mb has refreshed every month. Have you registered the sim to an account? From the thread there's this comment which might help. There's 700+ comments so if you read through some you'll probably find other ideas to try, if the suggestion in that comment doesn't help. The thread has almost 2000 degrees so I'd say the sim has worked fine for most people.

Alternatively look into Freedompop. They also offer a free 200mb sim which uses the Three network. 200 free minutes and texts are included too, but the calls are over data (voip) so many who've tried it, say call quality is poor. I think their latest sim includes free whatsapp usage which doesn't subtract from your 200mb free data, so you basically have access to whatsapp at all times, whilst using the sim. If you get a Freedompop sim, be sure to downgrade any trial offers. When you sign up, they give you like 1GB free for first month or something, but if you don't downgrade back to the free 200mb per month, they'll auto renew the 1GB and charge you when a month passes.

I used it fine in a phone. Have you registered it online? I think that had to be done to get the free allowance allocated to the sim.

I did register after receiving but I'll try it again. Ironically in a poor Three area at the moment can't even refresh a web page ....

'poor' doesn't even come close. Very often the call is completely silent. My poor old mother now thinks she has a stalker!

Yeah, it seems like every comment I've seen about the calls has been negative. I've only ever tried 1 call on mine, to a call centre and the operator said they could barely hear me and that there was lots of static so it lasted less than 30 seconds. I doubt anyone would be able to use Freedompop as their primarily sim.

Son has this in his phone, you add pay as you go credit.

The 3 200MB Data only SIM works in my OnePlus 3 fine but you do have to register though but it's pretty simple.
