You dont have to buy the official adapter, there are a lot of cheaper/more versitile/reliable options out there.

Wireless Bridge: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/61885/rb/25137034373 £37.90
Wireless Access Points: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/search/index.html?rb=25137035236&strSearch=&bolShowAll=true&intStoreID=8&intCatID=39&intSubcatUID=476&bolShowAll=true £30+
Home Plug: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/110264/rb/25137193533 (Need 2 of these)

First 2 of those will save you a few £s, the last one is about the same price as the Wireless Adapter but is the most reliable solution

Theres loads of guides on the net that detail how to set these up

Are the 360 official ones unreliable, have problems then?

No more than most Wireless products. I just put the HomePlug kit in my post as an example of what £50-£60 could get you.

The first 2 products will offer the same performance as the 360 network adapter but cheaper. They can also connect to more than one device making them a good buy.

Well to be honest all i want is to connect my 360 to my soon to be installed BT Homehub wireless system. All i'll be using wirelessly is my PC, laptop and 360 so if the 360 thang is good enough for the job of connecting the 360 up then i'll probably just get that, the other options may offer more features but to be fair i won't use them.

You probably won't find em cheaper but I can vouch for the official one. It's well overpriced for what it is, but as it's Microsoft designed, it works flawlessly and sits neatly in the back of the system. You won't regret buying one.

It is very neat and it doesn't need a seperate power supply. The other big advantage is the resale value is high if you decide to sell it.

Some of the catalogues (Littlewoods, MarshallWard) were doing these around £44 but can't find them anymore at that price. PC World do a reserve and collect for £49.99 (or you could pay £59.99 instore if you don't do reserve and collect). You also get a free england faceplate if you use the voucher from the PC World website (if you reserve and there are stocks etc).
