ANY HMV DISCOUNT CODES?

Shoegal Avatar

Hi. Does anyone know of any discount codes or e-vouchers to use at HMV UK online? I want to spend a lot of money there and I'd hate not to get a discount or even free delivery. I'm not a student so I can't take advantage of their 10% off for students offer.
Thanks.

I don't think there are any about right now. They have a big sale on at the moment though. HMV SPECIAL OFFERS

If you are buying online, you might be able to find each item you want cheaper from other sites. HMV are expensive generally.

Sorry I can't help with the vouchers.
#2
Yes, I agree they are more expensive than most, but I was planning to buy a DVD box set which is exclusive to HMV so I've got no choice unfortunately! :( Unless I don't buy it!!!
#3
If you want to PM the box set name I might be able to find it at a cheaper price.
#4
you could always have a look on ebay for the box set!
#5
Thanks, but I've done lots of research and can't find what I want cheaper. I'm considering buying the Sex And The City Complete Six Series Shoebox set which is about £97.00 plus postage from HMV. Virgin sell a special box set but it's about £125!!! I've watched the shoeboxes selling on ebay but they are selling for higher than the £97. Arghhhhhhhh. I was hoping I'd find a 10% or 15% discount voucher somewhere which would make me feel better! Thanks for your help though. :(

£90.99p delivered from W H Smith SEX + THE CITY SHOEBOX

Earn 3.5% cashback through GreasyPalm if you are a member.

I'm sure I saw a discount code for there too, but I can't find it right now. You do earn 90 clubcard points with them if you have one.

whats greasy palm?

GreasyPalm is a website that earns you cashback each time you make a transaction through their website, or by using their "rebate catcher" (recommended), through any online shop that is affiliated with them. It's free to join + you can be referred, the referrer would earn £7.00p once you've earned £15.00p for your self. You can refer people also.

For example:
I switched gas + electric services using their link, this gave me £7.50p per fuel (£15.00p, which now sits in there 'till I claim it back by transferring it to my bank account).

www.greasypalm.co.uk

Take a look, it's probably the best one to use.

You're welcome :D

10% off WHSmith is now in the coupon section. It's a link you follow that applies it automatically. So should work out to another £9 off :)

Oh and it should be free delivery over £40 (I think) or free to deliver to a store.
#12
Nice one Paul. I think maybe it will be applied once you've made your order using your clubcard, as it still shows at the regular price before inputting any card details.
#13
Thanks for the feedback. I've been to the WHSMITH site and can't believe they're the cheapest so far! They're normally pretty expensive! I've noticed you can now pre-order the Sex And The City Shoebox set at most of the 'cheaper' DVD online stores but none of them beat WHSMITH! If there are any discount codes floating around for any of the other DVD online stores I'd definately be interested!!! I looked at the details for the WHSMITH 10% off discount but I think it only applies to 'full price' items. The shoebox set is a special price (...but not quite special enough for me)!!!

NOTE: I've just tried to get the 10% discount at WHSMITH but I did'nt get it because the shoebox WAS excluded from the offer (because it's already on offer). It works on other items though. I did'nt actually buy the shoebox by the way, I just got as far as adding my card details but when I did'nt get the extra discount I emptied my basket! That'll teach 'em!!!

lol :D I do that all the time too. I think most of the DVD retailers have vouchers but they are not % off which is what you want when it costs £90. £2 voucher isn't going to help much. Have you checked the price in Amazon.com? Sometimes it's drastically cheaper even after adding the shipping and import VAT etc.
#15
I checked on Amazon and the shoebox was about £96 or £97. I'm determined to get it for around £80 - I've set my mind to it now! There aren't any Amazon vouchers floating around are there? If I can get £10 off their price I'll be well on my way!!!
#16
£3 off is the best Amazon voucher I think...although you can check the HD forum where rayman posted about a survey place where you could get £5 off. So maybe you could combine those and get £8?
#17
Thanks, but the £3 off at AMAZON voucher seems to have expired, so I'd be no better off than buying the shoebox for £90.99 from WHSMITH. At least there I could earn 90p on my reward card!
UPDATE: Following the link on this site there does seem to be a £3 AMAZON discount voucher that IS still valid.....sorry folks! Don't know if it's the best deal for me though!
#18
Well, I've been searching tirelessly but I've had absolutely no joy whatsoever! I can't find any decent discount vouchers for any of the online DVD stores and I can't find any WHSMITH or HMV discounts. You can buy the shoebox from Sainsbury's and Tesco but the vouchers I've seen don't reduce their prices enough to beat the WHSMITH offer. Phew, sweat....I'm tired of all this searching to no avail.....I'm off for a cuppa! (.........and maybe a small snack)!!!

You don't happen to be a studen or know a student do you? I think with an NUS number you can get 10% off HMV. I'll poke around a bit but first i'm going to have lunch.

Here's the link to info about 10% HMV with an NUS student number.

I've had a good old investigate and I can't get the 10% discount without having an NUS card, which I haven't got! Even if I managed to swing it, I'd only be £2(ish) better off than buying the shoebox from WHSMITH. HMV charge for postage (WHSMITH don't), AND they don't give reward points like WHSMITH do! So I'm now after a better deal than WHSMITH are offering.... maybe a WHSMITH discount!!!
Thanks for the feedback.
