Any ideas for a new couch?

Hi Guys,

I have just moved into a new house and am on the hunt for a new couch.

I'm not looking for a 3-piece suite but instead a large 3-seater will do.

The one i have been eyeing up is in Marks and Sparks and priced at a whopping £630ish.

Any help, advice, codes, discounts etc regarding my hunt would be much appreciated.

I obviously want to bag the cheapest deal possible.

Maybe you guys know of a promotion going where i haven't peeped yet?

Thanks in advance guys!

Some fantastic prices at Argos, but for such a large purchase, wait til they have there spend £100 and get a £10 voucher deal weekend, they usually have a couple in the run up to xmas.

If you got kids then my advice would be buy something practical that doesn't get dirty stain too easily and is hard wearing, also some places you can buy from you can request free samples of the fabric on the sofa etc.

Are you anywhere near a furniture factory outlet? You can find details by googling - these come immediately near the top, but if you search a bit more there are loads of them:

I live in Chester, and close to us (in NE Wales) there's a factory store that sells M&S, Laura Ashley, Next etc sofas. They have a huge choice, and at ridiculously low prices. We picked up a 3 seater and 2 seater M&S sofas for £345 the pair. If you're not too far away, it might be worth a trip with a van. PM me if you want full details.

In case this is of use to others, I have just found that the factory outlet near Chester now have their own website !

It's basically a warehouse that's crammed full of sofas (on display racking ... don't expect to see any 'posh' displays like their website shows!). Each sofa is labelled with it's price, and some have delivery dockets still attached - you can find out there the 'history' of the sofa. Some have been cancelled orders, others have been returned after short periods of time.

They also do footstools, and some textiles.

They can reserve any item for 24hours, and you can phone before you go if there's a particular sofa you're after - eg from the M&S, Laura Ashley or Next catalogue.

The only warning I'd give is to check the sofa fully before buying - eg one I saw last time had been returned because it had two 'left handed' cushions, and so would NEVER be of any use to anyone ... but the 'wrong' cushion was fllipped over, so it wasn't immediately obvious. Buyer beware and all that.

Happy shopping!

Try nabru. Self assembly sofas etc, including corner ones. We were looking for an L shaped one for the lounge to our sizes. This companies website has a build your own feature as they're of modular design. So you choose exactly what you want. They guarantee it'll fit (or money back), 3 weeks from date of order, free delivery, free return (in certain postcodes) if its not comfortable.
We wanted to see what they looked and felt like before buying online so took a trip up to Uxbridge yesterday. Not impressed with the production place as it was messy (well it was a factory) but the sofas are good and we seen the various fabrics (they will send samples). All of the online comments (did a google in addition to their own recommendations pages) were positive. So we ordered whilst we were there.
Got an L shaped corner sofa to our sizing, with a sofabed built in and some scatter cushions as well, covers are washable for £935. Nearest I could see in a shop (DFS) was £1150, no cushions, no sofabed and additional £160 for guardsmen protection (thinking ahead to grandchildren clambering and doing their business over it).

Big 3 seater sofa like you want (nearly 3 metres wide) is £419 but you get to choose exactly what you want (like arms, chaise etc.)
