Just out of contract with Orange, need to keep my number for work but really tempted to leave the robbing gits.
Need 300 or so minutes a month and unlimited txts would be nice.
Best Orange would do was £24 with 6220 handset which I wasn't keen on.
Anyway, any help would be good guys..
Cheers
John

Was that an offer from upgrades or retentions ?

If it was upgrades, tell them you want your pac code to go to another network. That will get you a call from retentions who have the better deals.

Bear in mind there's a limit to what any dept can offer based on your 'worth as a customer' which the computer gets from your spend over the last 6 months (your ave bill, the number of minutes and texts you use, etc). The agents can't over ride the system.

Good luck.

Hiya, hope this helps...
I rang orange saturday and went through to retentions (i.e cancellations) i said 3 had offered me 300 mins n 300 texts for £15 would they beat this... the gentleman came back with 300 mins n 300 texts for £9.79 per month.
Be polite but say ur willing to take ur customer elsewhere, they usually better their original offer if they know u are confident.
PS. i got sony ericson c510 thrown in too

The offer was from upgrades, My 18mth contract has just ran out. I was tempted to ask for pac code as I'm sure it only lasts for 30 days, you contract is only cancelled when the code is used.
Just want to bluff really, it's a bit of a hassle porting numbers as it's my work number.
Thanks for the help..

The pac does only last for 30 days true, but once it runs out you can ask for it again.

Asking for the code is the best bluff out there, if focuses the network into keeping you. Even if they give you code you don't have to use it.

Also calling retentions a few times can get you better offers. If you get a agent whose been there a while they'll know how to play the system to get the best deal of it. I'd give you a name but everyone I knew in that dept is long gone. . .
