Due to yet another house move, i'm wondering if anyone has any tips to make the time consuming process of informing numerous companies of my new address easier and or quicker?

I'm happy that i know who i need to contact but there are loads, obviously i will also set up a years RM redirect for those that i may forget about but its sooooooo slow.

Then there's the updating of all the companies online such as Ebay/Paypal/Amazon etc, etc.

Or would it just be easier to keep renewing the RM redirect each year :D

TIA

Here in France there is a website where you enter the new address and tick all the relevant companies to be informed and just hit send.
Is there something similar in the UK maybe?

pretty poor reviews on their facebook site ... better doing it yourself.

Best thing can recommend is to do a list and tick off each time you've done one

Isn't it a bit like the clothes tip for decluttering your wardrobe ? If you haven't worn them for a year then sling them .

I presume all the important stuff you will have changed straight away (and most you will have email contact with ) - the rest ? Treat them like a well loved pair of flares - sling them forget them :) But don't forget Aunt Maud's Xmas card (she might be a millionairess by now :D). Ask yourself - do you really have any important contacts who will suddenly wish to contact you after a year or more?

Well its happened once before where i forgot to update my details with a company regarding some shares i had, wasn't until i was complaining about not getting the yearly financial results that it dawned on me. Glad to say its only been once. (i think)

Also the point of getting a yearly redirect is to prevent me from buying something, not checking the delivery address and having something important sent to the wrong place. Again its only happened once.

Just had a look but not overly confident with them, as how do you know if they have contacted everybody who needs to know.

I presume you mean sites you have ordered from in the past that have your details stored ? Surely a bit of self discipline , before pressing the "Pay" button check delivery address is your new one ? And if its your old address correct it .

Yeah was a site i'd ordered from before, clearly self discipline isn't my issue. It was a case of me presuming i'd changed all the addresses, this one was linked to paypal so should have had the address updated but evidently not.

You can only RM redirect for 2 years. I looked at iammoving, but didn't find it to be of much good.

I see the child is around tonight (Isn't it your bedtime ?) voting all comments down on a totally non controversial subject , just folks trying to be helpful .
Is this how the social outcasts get their pleasure these days ? But I suppose it takes all sorts - yet again where are the Mods to ban or suspend the user ? They are quick enough to remove my inoffensive comments on any made up pretext , and using "Contact" to complain never results in a reply let alone an explanation - 23 complaints awaiting a reply to date , Have HUKD admin checked their Spam filter ? - In the last 9 months ?

Counteracted :3
