Anybody know a decent cheap travel agent???

Can anybody let me know of some good travel agents, that are cheap and also don't require an enormous deposit? I've been looking at first choice (reasonably cheap, low deposit), but i have also been on the travelrepublic site which is well priced, but deposits are just a bit steep. Rep given to anybody who can assist me. Thanks

Unless we are putting together ourselves and have the cash we always use First Choice...we have been on loads of holidays with them and they have always been good both long haul and short haul.

I have to admit that first choice does look good. The deposits are low, but the holiday costs are also very good (from what i have seen up to now). Rep for you too :-D

Thanks for that, I also think you get an extra 10% off by booking online compared to brochure price and depending on whan you are going I think there is another 9% off for holidays up to May. Sometimes they offer 0 deposits at their holiday hypermarket stores and they price match their online prices (or at least they used to) so if you prefer the face to face discussion that might be another option.

I am sure I saw a discount code somewhere for them as well but that may have ended now.

I'm actually looking for an all inclusive holiday for two adults and my 4 year old to Sharm El Sheikh. Would be flying from Bristol, 27 July for two weeks. Problem i have is looking to spend no more than £2000, but every time i find what i think is a good deal, i look at a review of the hotel on Tripadvisor, and it puts me off! Thanks again for the advice

What is the thing you can't compromise on, is it the budget, the location, the board basis, the date or the experience when you are there?

I think you could find a nice all inclusive holiday for the £2k price but probably not in Egypt (especially if you liek me will be swayed on your final decision by Trip Advisor!!!)

Or you might be able to find a really nice resort in Egypt for the price but not all inclusive...you get my drift.

Let me know and if I see anything I will let you know - I am in midst of searching all over for 2 holidays this year one for my 30th and another for our wedding anniversary and believe me we are searching everything so we may come across something that would suit you.

That's a greatly appreciated offer, thanks. Whats most annoying is that i have actually seen a holiday to travel on the 29th June to Sharm El Sheikh for two weeks all inclusive at a hotel which is rated highly at trip advisor for about £1800. Kids are free at this time. The problem is it would require us to go during my sons school term. The holiday in question is also through First Choice! Its infuriating. To go to the same hotel a month later is about another £900!!! :x

I know it is a real shame that holiday companies do this, it is all a bit back to front really  as the people who don't have kids would probably spend a bit more (well I would) but they tend to benefit more!!!

They really should look to spread the margin they are looking for a bit thinner throughout the whole year, they give all kinds of excuses about what they have to pay to the resorts etc, but actually they do these deals in advance and get the best price and then just look to extort more from families who need the money to go that little bit further but who they know are captive customer base as they are restricted by dates...I can only imagine what it must cost for a family of 4 or 5 to go in school holidays!!!

I will keep my eyes open and drop you a PM if I do come across anything. GGod luck with your search
