Yep, I got the one with the hd screen and bigger memory. Build quality is very good, the battery life seems to be between 6 and 8 hours, the screen is superb and the boot time is less than 10 seconds! Go and poke one in Currys and make sure you are ok with the keyboard as its a bit shallow. Mine did come from Currys and I couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere(£249). Just make sure you don't need an sd card slot as there isn't one!
My choice was between the Acer r13 and the Toshiba Chromebook 2.

Have you purchased anything yet? I'm in the same position as you. R13 or C302 or wait for the new Samsung. The C302 is $499 we are being charged £599 - so annoying!

hi i eventually decided on r13. couldnt justify the £599 for the asus even though its probably a devent machine. plus i picked it up refurbished in a1 condition for half the price so couldnt resist. it's a decent machine with a decent weight about it if using in tablet mode for a while would say gets heavy to hold after a while.

Where did you manage to find it from? I might also get the R13 as Dont want to spend £600 either!

i got it from laptop direct. came in its original box with original charger. couldnt tell it had been used apart from obviously the seal on the box had already been open and they had sealed it shut with tape. comes as standard with 3 months warranty but if u want the 12 months u can pay to get that think is £19.99. they only seem to have 1 in stock at a time but just keep an eye out as after i bought mine 2 days later there was another for sale. only thing could criticize is they didnt pack it very well for delivery.

Cheers I'll keep a lookout. Bargain if that's the case. I need one asap but will holdout a little longer.
How are you finding it?

if u go onto there site theres a number u can call maybe they will be able to tell you how regular they get them in stock. yeah finding it great upgraded from my acer c720 feels much more premium and more solid. the keys are nice as is the track pad to use. touch screen is really responsive screen wobbles a bit when u tap on touch screen but hinge is solid. i struggled a bit with putting it into tablet mode at first mix off not wanting to be to ruff but enough effort to fold it over. its fast enough for my general needs. not put it to beta channel yet to get the google play store so will be good to try that to see how it copes with it. done an octane score and was just over 10,000. overall happy that i got it and at the price i did. :)

i've been using the R13 for 3 weeks now. overall very impressed with the build and quality. I was also worried about the reviewers comments about the hinge..but definitely think its overblown. The hinge is fine. The battery life is really impressive, I got 10 hours of netflix on (not full screen brightness).

I was also considering the C302, but went for the R13 because its much better value for money. Plus the Android apps (especially games) run much smoother on the non Intel processors.
