I liked it personally, that said I just stayed in the city for a couple of days and did touristy stuff like going up Sears tower, spending time on the waterfront etc.

I haven't been there, yet! Been to Boston in March and it was cold, can't remember when we'd seen snow like it. From people I know that have been its worth going when warmer. Might want to check whats on during the year, June looks like its got great music/film festivals on! :D

Been there twice, had a great time. Try Navy Pier, you get a great view from the end looking back at the city.

Went in October a couple years back and had an awesome time. Absolute must (even if you aren't a sports fan) going to see the Cubs play baseball. Goes on for a while but you can just come and go. Just great atmosphere and really friendly.

We stayed River North at a hotel called Dana Hotel and found it was a really great location. Easy to walk to Navy Pier, Millennium Park etc.

If you do visit, definitely visit Redhead Piano Bar. There is also an awesome little cafe called Meli Cafe and Yolk. does great breakfasts. There is honestly just so much to do. We were there for about 4 days and didnt even scratch the surface.

I must admit we were quite apprehensive about wandering off at night when it was dark but we definitely felt safer in Chicago than we did in New Orleans just to compare the two. Always better to just err on the side of caution. Plenty of police about though.

We stayed and couple of years ago and thought it was a great city, but just not a lot to do outside of the city itself

went in January 2015. it was-28 deg. it's very touristy. was on a business trip for a week but managed 1 day's worth of sightseeing. the bean, navy pier, the sky edge are things to see. lots of arty sculptures etc around the city. lots to see and do. would definitely recommend. I hear it's beautiful in the summer.

Fantastic city, my favourite US city ahead of NYC, Boston, Orlando. Weber grill is my favourite restaurant and you should definitely do the gangster tour and John Hancock building. If you wait until later in the year you can take water taxis

Horses for courses, but we prefer Boston, as there is a lot more history and places to visit by hire car from the city. That said, it rained solidly for the whole week we were there last time, the weather is kinder in Chicago.

Tbh both are great, we had a great time in each, it depends what you're looking for. We did Boston before kids, Chicago with. The Aquarium, Field Museum and Navy pier were great for the kids. Non-stop sports in both is a huge plus for me.
