Ok so bought it today, pretty handy device. However, how could I cast Acestream (or streamed football in general) to my chromecast?

Also, any must have apps? Thanks.

don't know much about acestream, but you'll need an app like localcast to stream most things

Thanks, but please could you elaborate on that? So i'm using Windows 8 laptop. I can cast whatever my screen is showing - i.e. not something streaming on Chrome...?

Best way is getting a plex server setup on your pc and that can then decode and send it straight to your chromecast.

Yeah, google suggested that to be the best way. Do you have a good setup guide handy? Guides I have been looking at haven't worked for me...

^ that might be of help if you have an android device available (use localcast instead of bubbleupnp if you don't want to pay)

Doesn't actually look to be a channel for acestream on plex so think you may be out of luck on that front :(

I have tried doing this myself from the ace player on my laptop.
I did manage to get it to work but the picture wasn't great.
what you have to do is go into the advance settings on ace player and enable the option to output stream.
then copy a certain code into the address bar (not got link right now... at work ) and then create a new .strm file with that same address in it on your laptop,
open plex and create a new video share and point it to the .strm file stored on your laptop.
then you must have the game playing on your laptop and press play on the plex share.
I can't give you any links right now but there are links if you google it.

easiest way is surely just to navigate to the website your steaming the content from in Chrome Browser, and then press the chromecast button in the top right?

Not saying its the best solution but surely the easiest?
