Reading comments on there saying that the drive is a bit too thick and might require a sata extension cable... :|

Is this true?

to be fair some 2TB's are too thick for some uses, so it wouldn't surprise me if a 4TB is too thick with the extra platters, absolutely no reason to go for any bigger that a 2TB in a PS4 anyway

4TB is relatively new tech and I wouldn't vouch for the reliability of said tech as they've held off implementing it in lower capacity drives over performance concerns

Yea, I was just thinking that 4TB may be little OTT for the PS4. 2TB probs just about right. Now all I need is too come across a really good deal today for one lol.

about £45 you can get them for, just get a portable usb one and rip it apart, cheaper that buying a naked hdd

Just buy the 2TB Seagate Backup one for about £45 and pry it open using carpet blade/Hobby knife.

If you do it properly you can reuse it for the drive coming out of your PS4, I've had the 2TB in my base PS4 for over a year with no problems and it will soon be going into a PS4 Pro when I upgrade.

Yea I agree, this Black Friday has been pretty dire. Hopefully Cyber Monday might fair better but I kinda doubt it...
