I made an order on Amazon for 3 x books. They were scheduled for delivery Saturday. I received a text yesterday at 09:38 saying its out for delivery with a tracking link, at 18:08 it was claimed its been delivered. I have received no card through the letter box saying attempted it's here etc. I have rang Amazon and they told me it's been signed for by me! i know Yodel are renowned for not being reliable, I have looked on the net and apparently this is a tactic used to keep their targets on track, I'm not sure if this is why. Amazon have rectified the problem as I knew they would and given me a free month on Prime etc. I was just curious how many other people have faced similar problems?

I had a similar thing. Amazon also sorted it out. Next day a bloke from down the road turned up at my door. They'd delivered it to the wrong house. Rang Amazon and cancelled the replacement.

Cheers for the response, yeah Amazon are sending 2 x books out which will arrive tomorrow and they are refunding the third book as it was a third party seller. Considering it's not Amazons fault they have been brilliant.

Yes! I had exactly the same issue during the run up to Christmas. We ordered a photo frame which Yodel apparently delivered to our home address and was signed for whilst both my partner and I were at work (15miles away). Luckily the supplier understood and we arranged delivery through a different courier. How are they getting away with this!? And what happens to our purchases? Landfill? eBay? Who knows but it's shocking practice and someone needs to clamp down on it. I'm sure others won't have such understandable suppliers...

Us to. We found item right up side of house the day after my wife chased up the delivery. They said it was deliverd. I had to climb over my crap I stored up side and move things about then found item by chance. No card left by driver so we think it was there for a few days? Also had a package left up close but the people were in no hurry to get it to us. No card left with us to say where it was. I think some people wait for it to be collected then forget or keep item.

This is not good, if it's true they are doing this then they are extremely out of order. I want to see the signature that's signed for it! Also it seems as well as that problem, their general logistics and delivery techniques are not adequate. It suprises me that they are still operating if they have this many problems.

they sometimes deliver to a neighbour and get their signature instead. they are supposed to drop a card through your door to say where they left it but they don't always do this.

royal mail does this as well. once had the same problem for a very expensive parcel with royal mail. evening comes and the neighbour came over to say that the parcel had been left with them.

Same here. An Argos order supposedly delivered by them and signed for by me on the 26th. Phoned Argos yesterday and have to phone them again tomorrow. Not good

It's not acceptable, just been looking at a Facebook group about them and their failings.

on pda`s the driver is supposed to put in the name of the person signing for the item (different,if not the actual receiver),so ask who that persons name is but with yodel......who knows, paid by the drop!

I've had the same. My item was signed for a couple of days before I reveived it. Probably to meet targets...

Yip, happened also with us a few days before christmas. Its about time companys stopped using them! They don't deserve the custom. It would actually put me off ordering something if it was being delivered by Yodel!!!! :(:(:(

I had the same issue in the weeks up to christmas! Hardly ever get anything delivered by yodel then just my luck everything i ordered for xmas was delivered by them! Check everywhere at the front of your house where they could leave them, we found lots of parcels in the recycling bin, luckily it doesn't get collected through the winter as we didn't get any card through the door! We dont live on the best street ie 'if it isnt stuck down it will get taken', the driver decided to leave a very large box at the side of the front door which was obviously from the disney store! Luckily i was in when it was delivered and wasnt a knock or a card, wasnt left out there too long, Just dumped it and left! Only way to solve this is everyone complains every single time it happens- a friend is a dpd driver!

Had items left on doorstep in plain site, left in recycle bin, thrown over garden gate/wall (\lucky parcel was clothing)
worse company ever!

Same here, had a card saying parcel was in my back garden, which is surrounded by a 10foot wall, went out to look and it had clearly been thrown over and was in the middle of the garden in plain view

we've had similar experiences but luckily our local Yodel driver is lovely. he leaves cards, returns promptly when you call him. I'm not sure how they decide to employ but it seems to be a complete lottery!

We ordered a bike from Tesco to be delivered to our local store. We received email confirmation the bike was at the store for collection. When we arrived the bike was not there and never had been. Neither was a flat screen TV another customer had ordered and had been advised was ready for correction. Turns out Yodel were responsible for delivery. Lady in Tesco had no problem in requesting replacement s very quickly.

I believe they call themselves Yodel as you have to shout for it.

A second gift was also due from another reseller. When the seller's was contacted they said they had over 280 parcels with Yodel that had not arrived as expected or were delayed. The poor owner was beside himself working to sort things out.

If I hear a company uses yodel I don't use the company.

Agree with that, their use can also impact my purchasing decisions. From what I understand some of it is down to self employed drivers that have targets for successful deliveries. They aren't incentivised to return, so mark as delivered and leave in some of the stupidest places.

I have had the same issues, particulary in the run up to Christmas. Numerous parcels were showing as being delivered by Yodel when in fact nothing had.

All the parcels were supposed to have been delivered at night, but none arrived.

Amazon quickly replaced them and also gave me a free trial of Prime.

Not sure what happened with one small one though, showed as delivered one day, never arrived, Amazon sent out another one and it arrived the next day but then after Christmas the first one arrived by Royal Mail so not sure where it was inbetween.

Shocking service.

They are cheap for companies to use so despite the fact that the companies know they are rubbish they still use them as it saves them money long term.
