I had a bootloop issue with my G3 a couple of months back. Bought a new battery from Amazon and it fixed the issue. Basically my battery had died. It might be worth troubleshooting the problem to see if this is the same issue.

If not then contact LG - http://www.lg.com/uk/support/contact/chat-email

I had a separate issue with a few weeks back with power not getting to the screen and it fading to black within a few seconds of it coming on. 10 minutes on live chat to LG and they arranged for it to be picked up the next day to be repaired - even though I couldn't provide proof that it was still under the 2 year warranty. Got it back in full working condition last week :)

Great customer service.

only thing is if it's unlocked they said it would invalidate the warranty unless it was unlocked by Vodafone

Contact LG not Vodafone. There is a known issue. Oh, and unlocking does not invalidate the warranty.

Did you send the battery aswell when you sent it to LG? I had an email saying do not include the battery but I have now received the parcel to send it to LG and it includes a note that says include the battery.
Thanks

For those who had the issue: What did your serial number start with?

Strange. I got mine last year in the sale. Last week it started losing signal. it wont connect at all to 3G and 2G keeps dropping. tried sim in other phones and tried other sims so I know it is hardware.
I just dropped it back off at the shop today to be sent away for repair.

Are you going through Vodafone or LG?

I took it to a Vodafone shop. I was told 5-7 days.

Ahh that isn't too bad then I went direct to LG they said 2 weeks

Mine is a v1.1 serial starts MEZ6647.
Battery has been bad for about a week, so that could have been phone searching for signal a lot. I dont get many calls and phone is on wifi at home and work, so easy to miss that it could not pickup 3G.
I suppose I am glad it went at 10months rather than at 13months!
I see an online aerial repair is about 80 quid from an independant. I was surprised to see lots of screws under the back cover, so repairing G4's might be easy'ish.

Looking at my original box, i had a 507.

I got my phone back, it had the motherboard replaced. The IMEI number is now different and the phone is now locked, so no use to me :( I am waiting for a Vodaphone tech department to contact me. I dont think the new IMEI number is on their system.
I was told they would be in contact within 24hr. 2 hours to go!
Glad I still have my old Samsung G3 to use!
Annoyingly during the repair they took off my screen protector.

The same thing happened with me... So annoying. I checked on Vodafone's website and it said unlocking can take up to ten days so I just went onto ebay and bought a code for 3 pound and could use it the same day

I just sent an email to their unlocking department as I had not heard anything. And yeah their automated reply says 2days or 10days.
if they cant help I will go via ebay as it will cost me more than £3 to drive to the store plus the time I will waste.
Who was the ebay seller you used please?

All unlocked. Many thanks. Just have to restore my backup. I hope this new motherboard lasts a long time. Fingers crossed for an Android 7.0 update in the new year!

Mine died today, how do some go about getting the g5 as a replacement?
#30
yes, contacte
d LG directly and got it sorted within few days. they replaced the body and kept the same screen (I recognised same screen protector, but different IMEI number). Vodafone is useless and time consuming, go LG for fast response as it's a wide spread and known manufacturer fault, they will fix with no quibble.

I went straight to LG as well, mine was bought in Vodafone sale last year. Went in to Vodafone and they noted that it hadn't been used on their network... said that if I'd had it unlocked by anyone apart from themselves the Vodafone warranty was invalid. Contacted LG straight after that and they repaired no probs, just needed proof of purchase. Collecting it today so will see if all working!

Same here, when you get it back you will need to unlock it again
