This will be the issue with releasing a console with 1 hit game, I said hit right

I'm not bored of it but the whole weapon breaking thing does seem to get annoying and puts me off. That is one thing I don't like about the game. Don't really like the stamina either but it's not as bad as breaking weapons. Trying to balance my time between Zelda and Horizon Zero Dawn but I find myself playing Horizon Zero Dawn a lot more as the weapons don't break in that game making it more enjoyable right now

22 hours!!! How you do find the time... I've managed to find about 30 mins.

But seriously, no, but then I don't have 22 hours free (not within that timeframe anyway).

You should savour things like this, in the immortal, wise words, of the scribe Cheryl (insert current surname here) 'too much of anything can make you sick'.

The game doesn't feel like Zelda to me. It's just walking and climbing about. I understand freedom is nice but walking miles to a tower only to find you've not enough stamina to climb it is a tad annoying. I've also found some of the shrines are a bit repetitive just fighting the same guardian with different difficulty levels. There was me thinking every shrine was unique. :D

I've played over 30 and am still loving it I'm not bothered with the breaking weapons things and often break them myself after a fight and just pick up those left behind.

I'm finding combat easier as I'm getting to grips with the lock on, timing etc, i also sneak attack as much as possible and throw bombs about. Great fun.

Horses are pretty redundant tho i rarely bother riding them or anything else

Never played shadow of the collussus then which it is clearly inspired by and others say dark souls but I've not played that, its not zelda but it is really good up there with xenoblade chronicles x.

There was a lot of complaints about SOTC too I recall but i loved it and played it several times trying to max out the stamina bar with lizards.

If you can't climb a tower put some blocks next to it to climb on to help or get your stamina higher

It was never a reason to get Switch!

Wish bomberman had come out on the WiiU and Nintendo had put together a new genre game plus a new Mario kart etc. for a proper launch selection of the Switch.

I'm just glad I didn't buy a Switch for this game alone. I stuck just to my Wii U. The game started off really good for me but it seems to be getting a bit boring and repetitive now. The world seems a bit lifeless with just the odd goblin camps and 'same looking' animals. The shrines and towers are getting dull also. Think I'll get shut whilst it's still worth something. :D

Ive played a good few hours, its about planning, using stealth and making sure you are ready.. getting to Zoras domain is more Zelda than anything else in the game, felt like a old school dungeon area..

I am very cynical with games nowadays but this game allows you to play however you feel. last night just spent an hour cleaning up the chests in shrines I missed.

Its refreshing that Nintendo have allow Zelda to have so much freedom.

The shrines start off samey, but as you progress some of them become really fun and complex.

Was just about to say pretty much what haritori has said. As the game progresses you get more reliable and effective weapons. So you need to persevere to a certain extent and just prepare for the next encounter. I'm not even closed to being bored and i've put in a fair few hours.

When you say you're inside the Divine Beast, have you beaten it? Without giving away any spoilers, beating it is very useful.

I agree but some are just the same. I'm sure I've done two shrines that were minor strength. I thought did Ninty run out of time? lol

No, at the end of the divine beast is some Ganon boss that is tough. I need to get more arrows and hearts and comeback. :D

I'm only a couple of hours in (my copy arrived Wednesday), I'm probably not in a position to comment yet. Definitely enjoying it, definitely should make use of the game pad screen for inventory and map though, that was a bit of a waste.

Would never have purchased a Switch to play it, Wii U version seems to run fine.

I like it, had a few nostalgia moments already and for me that increases the enjoyment no end.

i personally love this game as it makes the series feel fresh, i was sick and tired of the same old zelda system which felt stale. i can understand why people may not like this but I personally love it, plus i love how youre able to tackle a situation in many different ways its so fun!

I spent about 20 minutes last night just paragliding off high points to air attack Cranes for raw drumsticks. Not sure why but it felt fun.

The game is incredible. Get bored of one thing do another. But yes weapon breaking is a definite con. Im surprised more reviews didn't pick up on it. Whilst its not game breaking in anyway. It becomes more than a mild frustration that Most weapons cant make it through a single fight. Its an annoying quitk where simply making weapons slightly more durable would have completely fixed the issue.

I have a six year old daughter and a job that requires me to sometimes work longer hours than usual.. . Throw in a bit of running or swimming and 30 mins is about all I have!

On the plus side, it's not likely to scratch.!

Fwiw : My launch day ps4 didn't get out of the box until February the following year...

I've not progressed at all, I've just got the camera and am busy taking pictures of everything its a game of exploration with some cunning real world thinking, its not frustrating when you die because if it was real yeah more likely then not that will kill you.

I'm not even sure if the lightning strikes unrealistically often, i mean we live in a world of lightning conductors and the world of zelda is all stone and trees, just reminds me of my mother saying about watching the golfers on the course next to her parents house when she was a kid getting struck by lightning as they ran like hell for the club house with their clubs whenever it thundered.

Probably in the minority but I like the weapons breaking, when the weapon breaks it gives a critical hit which you can factor in when entering combat. Also there are certain combat items that are unbreakable.

I get you, pal. Time is of the essence. Well hopefully you grab a few extra minutes this weekend :)

I took a week of work to play it. After 65 hours I have completed all the shrines and gotten all endings. My percentage counter is still only reading 33.39%!

Anyone accidentally throw their weapons instead of using an arrow? instant weapon break.. its a right pain!!
#31
Played about 20 hours and felt the same way. Presentation of the shrines all being so similar eventually took its toll and the divine beast quests were all incredibly similar too.

Gave up with the game after that and given I wasn't sure on keeping the system due to the dock scratching situation I just returned the console.

Its quite comical how axes and heavy weapons break after a few swings. It's not like they are made out of wood. :D

I've only just got the glider lol. But it's going well so far for me. I find if i play it as and when I can I don't get as bored so quickly.

They will never make a better one than Wind Waker

I'm not bored of it but the weapon breakage is a pain, maybe reduce damage effect but to shatter drives me up the wall

25 hours in and I'm getting totally bored of it. It's definitely getting sold today or tomorrow. Sick of cooking, weapons breaking, entering the inventory constantly and the stamina metre. The whole concept of travelling from one tower to another doing the odd shrine is so tedious. I much prefer the old formula and even the 2D Zelda instead. Well, at least I tried it. Can't see how it's meant to be one of the best games ever? Oh and the frame rate on Wii U is shocking at times. Never seen a Ninty game run as poor.

Clearly some people lead very shallow lives or have a very high boredom level. Try having a beer, going for a run or (God forbid) getting laid :)

I am diagnosed with M.E. but I do not feel the need to troll other people's interests and make fun of them. Why not go to a book forum and attack them for enjoying reading, or to a model train forum and attack them for playing with trains?! Everyone is different and the world would be a very boring place if everyone was the same!
